Funny how the battery issue is comming up.
I'm in the process of running my rx pack thru discarge and then charging for the fun fly.
Should be able to get 18 flights per ship without a charge once every battery is ready to go.
Getting the cat set on auto pilot.
counting the "DAY"

We have the first confirmed kill Thurday night at the FF. Ntsb reports that the MAH 430 survived an inverted full power landing. The heli on the other hand was a little less fortunate. The pilot Paul S. quickly moved out the way ofthe incoming Bogey. Pics to follow!

This was an awesome weekend. I would say that night flying had one of the hugest turnouts I've seen. Friday night we had 11 night flyers and that didn't include two of us who didn't fly that night.

It was great to see Jeff King wringin' out his Synergy, and the two Align reps, Shawn and Marcus Conquering all our hearts with their flying. Mark was there with his new Blitz Avro. Gary from Esprit model who came all the way from Bulgaria to this event and did a great presentation of the Mikado V-bar, and spent a bunch of time explaining it to us, even giving us some stick time.

Also, I'd like to note, one of the youngest flyers, Jake, (didn't catch the last name) who was there with his mom, seemed to be realling enjoying his first event. So I'd like to welcome him to our group of fellow heli flyers.

Lastly, lets all thank Gary Weaver for allowing us to hold the event there.

It was a great weekend. Bill P. knows how to put on a fun fly.
USA_1_INK glad I could I help. It was nothing but a few tweaking and getting your ship in air. After that you placed and got your reward.
Nice job! All of you are great bunch to hang around and fly with.
Paul, I think the best new pilot on the field was young Jake. The kid just turned 14. With a little help from all of you old farts he got his AMA and was real joy to be around. Now thats what a fun fly is all about.....The full scale chopper ride was cooooool!!!
See ya next year!

Hello everyone, and thanks to all for making this a great event once again. It is great seeing familiar faces from last year again, and certainly plan on visiting more in the future.

Who was guy with the large video camera? Is he going to make the videos public? Any other pictures that will be made public? Thanks, Rob, for the nice pictures above. See you at Brooks in June and Snohomish in July!! http://sam2b.myvnc.com

And yes Don is going to edit and put some type of DVD movie together. He had a great time and is just starting out with heli's..

I would like to thank Bill Pierce for holding this event... I think everyone that attended had an outstanding time.. "Thanks Bill"

I would also like to check out any photo's or video of the heli bowling. Not an easy event, Anyone that has tried it will agree.
Sorry Bill you did not fare so well this year with the bowling.. I am glad no one broke anything in the event...

Looks like next year I will get moved up to Advanced for compitition.. Now just to learn how to fly backwards????? Only time will tell, Just hard for this old dog to learn that new trick...

Hope to see everyone at the next event I am able to make. I still hope to put together a Spokane event.. Just need to find a place to hold it.. Look foward to next time.
Thanks to everyone that came it was fun....

Now just to learn how to fly backwards?????
Oh it's not so bad. Flying backwards is just like flying forwards, but totally different.

Don, thanks ahead of time for making the DVD. That's even better than video clips! I really enjoy re-living these sort of moments.

I think I finaly got myself solidified after melting in the heat. Had a bit of carnage through the weekedn but it looks like people are pushing their helis harder than ever so the impacts are bound happen.

Friday night flying had more people than I've ever seen set up to fly after dark, cool to see more folks doing this. Saturday had the Othello hold-em tournement and then some night flying and of course the "round table session" that Jeff mentioned. Truly set a new low but I wouldn't have wanted to miss it.

Great to be able to put a face to some names and screen names now.

I love the wide and deep open space at this Othello field. Unlike Brooks, you can go out further and lower without hitting 10' stalks or log piles. It was really cool doing low flips and watching the blades' air ruffle the vegetation. I also refer to the vegetation as the crash cushion; it certainly cushioned several crashes this weekend! (I am raising my hand)

My hardware failures included:
Tail ball link popped off
Canopy
Main Blades
Tail Blades
Main shaft
Spindle shaft
Crown gears
More crown gears
Throttle servo burned up
Can we say MORE crown gears.

I've met my quota for the year!
