10MPH winds?
Sounds like last year. Thanks for the heads up. The sim is cooking and having fun with 15mph. The downwind stuff is killer.

Will there be music of choice allowed during the free style section of the competition? Will anyone be taking quality videos and pictures?

Yes I’ll have a small but potent system there for announcements and music. If you guys want bring some tunes you like to fly and listen to.Someone usually always has a camera ther.

Try this Bill M.

I started using this a few years ago on the sim. It has worked wonders with some of the guys I have been working with. You have to remember the sim is a training tool not a video game. It won’t be as much fun but I guarantee it will help your flying.

First go to aircraft select the one you like the best go to edit. Then click on electronics then head speed governor. Set head speed set 1 @ 1300 2 @ 1400 3 @ 1500. Then go to heli mechanics and select main rotor go to collective pitch. Set it @ + and – 17 degrees of pitch.(I fly at 2)

Edit: When you exit save your setting to user location say... Bill Pantera

It will force you to use collective management. After a while you will see you are flying around center on the collective using only what you need. It will seem pretty doggy compared to what you are used to.

This will allow you to fly with very large amounts of pitch and will teach you when and where you can use those big collective pumps.

The next time you go flying listen to the motor. If you hear it load that’s ok but if you hear it bog that’s what you’ll need to work on. With the 90’s this really comes in to play

Like I said it’s a tool

Thanks Bud

I bought anather truck last fall for my buisness for a back up from one of my customers. He is in his 80's and he paid $28000.00 for it new. It's a 99 GMC sierra 3/4 ton 4 X 4 loaded with the tow package and only 34000 easy miles on it.I gave him $10500.00 for it,so I was half way ther.

I figuerd out what I'v been spending on hotel rooms the last 7 years.I'll be flying at least anather 7 and they are only going to go up. This way I can stay on site and save money on food too.

Yep, that hoteling bit can be a little spendy. The night life at fun flys is all part of the fun. I look forward to seeing it in person.

How are your 600's flying? I'm sure enjoying mine. I have my stash almost gathered up for the 700, one more servo and a 2 in 1 regulator and I'm ready to build......Well the heli itself is still needed too.

Balloon popping

This sounds like a fun event. I'd like to see some successful balloon pops. I've always liked sticking stuff in spinning fans and watching it fling off. (what does that make me??)

My oldest "kid" (Josh) is getting married on Saturday, so I'll have to head back to Portland early. You know it's a good fun-fly when you drive two hundred miles even though you have to leave early!

Bill, your tag line is great. Unfortunately, I'm only far enough in the 12 step heli holic program to show up sun burned and smelling like 30% nitro.

Wyn,
Hope to see you at the fun fly so we can continue the 12 step program.
I test flew the Pantera BBC and the motor is ready. Folks this will be the first time the BBC from Audacity Models will be shown after a year of proto types and tooling. Pantera 4 is flying great as well.
I only have the EVO 90 and the Night Tiger to get ready for the fun fly.
Bill, Are you going to have the BBQ set up like last year?
