In that first vid it seemed like he had control of the tail after the motor cut. Does the Logo 400 have a driven tail also???

Hey,

No, tail is not driven in auto.
but you can controll it, till the motor spools down completely

It has some really good power reserves in the rotor in autorotations because of the non driven tail, so I'm sure there are some inverted autos possible.

Fact is there needs to be a high quality Heli (Logo) that people can afford.
Look at how many Cp And CX get sold. Has Proven there is a very large market for them.

I think after being a logo guy for 3 years now that they are out of reach for most people.

I know first hand that everyone likes my heli but i have noticed when they find out how much things cost that there atitude changes fast.

I think it is a good move for Mikado to get more people into there Heli's.
Looking back i wish i could have started with one.

Just built a 400 from Logo 10 parts, and I like it! I used 5S to get a bit more Amp delivery from the packs, but I haven't measured current yet.

How's it going Tom?

So what will be the 3d set-up of choice on the 400 as far as you can tell...5s or 6s? I'm sure it depends...so perhaps I should ask what you think the +- will be between 5s and 6s set-ups.

Thanks, Tom

Chandler,

Will you have the new 400 stlye canopy available soon? I need a replacement for my Logo 103D canopy and the new one is nicer looking. Should be a direct fit on my Logo 10 frame.

I'm very excited for the release. Sad though, because I've got a set of brand new TPX 4s packs that are probably a little low on the power scale for this bird.

Back in the old Century days we used to inverted auto a hawk sports and swifts without driven tails, the 400 should be no problem, all you gotta do is roll out then flare. No flipping out.

If you want a driven tail then just add 5-10% on your throttle curve in hold, this lets the motor spin at a slow speed and keeps the tail going.

Cant wait to get one

Or use the trick of selecting a motor with very little to no cogging (such as a Tango) and lock up the one-way bearing.

Re: Locking up the oneway bearing

I've read about that trick before, and I have a Tango 45-10 sitting here unused, but I wonder if this trick would cause problems if you overspeeded the head? When the motor caught up with the head, would it strip the main gear?

Jon,
With the one-way locked the motor is always turning at the headspeed times the gear ratio. I'm not quite sure what you mean by, "When the motor caught up with the head..."

Agreed the Logo 10s auto'd just fine with mo driven tail and the little 400 should do the same

Power setups will vary 5s or 6s will definatley be good from some of the testing we have done

I'm really looking forwards to getting my hands on one. Still have yet to fly the 500 though. Too much family, too little time.
