Hi everybdoy,
I have recently purchased an older Joker CX off Ebay, didn't picke it up yet and i would like to set ip up for endurance fluing.
I fly mostly FPV and the very reson i bought it is to be bale to fly farther away and for that i need the minimum amp draw.
I am trying to find out what tooth count pinions and main gear are still available, being an older version and also i'm debating over going for a 12s set up or 10s or even 8s depending on battery size availability and gear reduction.
I flew other smaller helis at rididculously low head speed and amp draw getting good flight times but i needed a larger ship in order to keep more distance between components due the interfference caused when in close proximity.
Can any one of you guys share some of your knowledge and experience with set ups?
Thank you.

A 24-5 with a 20T pinion will give you about 1700 HS with a 20T pinion on 12S. You can dial it back to 1500 or so and get some really long flight times.

Don't use an Actronic ESC it won't spin any motor faster than 16,000 RPMs. And you'll be wasting energy with it if your setup calls for faster.

The lower you can gear the more efficient it will be.

Thank you Gerard.
So am i to understand the lowest tooth count pinion is 20?
I've noticed on FXaero's site that there are two main gear available, 54 tooth and a 57 if remember correctly only i'm not shure if they are compatible with the v1 Joker or only the newer one. It's not quite clear to me if the spare parts or at least some of them are interchangeable between the two.Do you happen to know anything about that?

The 57T gear is the final gear and the 54T is the intermediate gear.

They are not interchangeable nor are there any alternatives.

The only way to change ratios is by different pinions which are the primary gear.
