I got a story, its not very funny though

ok so im flying my dads 450 and I lose the tail servo,ok now what?CRASH.very little damage,ok that parts good.

A few weeks later I get it all put back together, take it for its test flight and it has a wierd noise ok,so I take it up again to try and figure it out and then the heli decides it doesnt want its tail blades anymore, but I manage to land with out further damage..

so after all that (heres the make you wana cry part) I fix it all up a few weeks later and take her out to the field, start the flight going beatiful in the hovers no vibes no trim,no noises, nothing just beautiful. ok so I start fff in my first banking turn about 10 feet up prabably 20-30 mph.LOCK-OUT (yes this is a spectrum horror story lol) so it banked downward and hit nose first HARD heres the list

frames,spindle,mainshaft,blades,blade grips,flybar,paddles,gyro case,linkages,gear,battery,3 servos,a few misc control arms,canopy,tail blades,and it cut the wires on the esc(cc 35).

It would have been MUCH worse if the head and tail werent mostlly metal. this was by far my worst crash (and Ive crashed rappys before)..but I got a feeling thats gunna change since I bought a 600n pro

just curious on how. how you having a diff throttle on idle up affected your pitch.

sorry for the crash though.

You know it really sucks when you crash your own stuff, but it really really sucks when you crash another guys heli trying to help him get his flying just right and it locks out and completely destroys the helicopter.

But then again, it's not my heli that crashed

Couple of years ago, I let my cx get to high in the front yard, and the wind got it, taking it towards the huge trees that were across the road. I fought it with all I had, and then the dreaded blade/flybar strike, and it landed in a very tall tree. It was fall, all the leaves were yellow, so was the bird. No way to see it, searched and searched forever. It took 3 weeks and a strong storm to bring it down finally. Found it after the storm and very high winds in 30 seconds. 3 weeks! Threw the battery out, put in a new one, and it was fine...lmao. Cleaned it up and put in on flea-bay and bought a real bird. I'll never forget that.

here is a few newbie mistakes I have made

1. forget to put back the servo horn screw for tail
cost 185$ to fix heli.

2. after rebuild had reversed aileron servo.
cost 85$ to fix heli.

3. first autorotation had throttled hold on same side as cyclic
when I flipped the switch I also flipped the heli landing on its head
cost 0$ slighty bent flybar

4. after doing extensive rebuild using Raven parts and a larger 550 tank after 45 mins of tuning and tinkering forgot to check RX BAT level it was in the red. funny thing though it was a spektrum no lock out and I did stop flying just barely in time.

with the large tank and OS37 I now get 25 min runs of easy flying

The point of all this
You gonna make mistakes, there is a learning curve, nobody starts out as a Pro, you just gotta have fun while you can, and do preflight 3-4 times before you start, move them parts by hand first if there going to break, better to happen while it is not running.

I spent 3 whole days fixing my T-Rex 450 after a bad crash. Spent over $100.00 fixing it. I finally had the thing running perfect after my head spinning around 3 times.

Then I decide to hover in my living room. Everything was going fine until I hit my idle 2 switch. I forgot that I messed with the throttle curve in normal mode. My heli shot up like a rocket and damaged my ceiling and two of my walls. It then did a chicken dance because instead of switching the hold back on I switch off my radio like a tard.

I turned the radio back on after a good 20 seconds of the heli smacking into my walls and finally got control back. I did well over $100.00 in damage to my heli. And probably more than that to my living room. Man this is an expensive hobby!

The good news is that I had most of the spare parts I needed from the last crash except for the real expensive ****. Like the swashplate and main gears. And I can put the 450 together pretty quick now.

After the crash I screamed the "F" word really loud. A few seconds later I just started laughing because there was really nothing I could do at that point.

I will still fly in my living room no matter what anyone says. Guess I havent really learned my lesson. But it beats flying in the freezing cold.

You are ******* crazy, you do know a 450 can kill you if it hits you in the right spot? I took the leg off of a patio table with a 400 size heli, chopped it clean off, now imagine what that would do to your skin. If it's to cold to fly outside buy a sim, it's better than destroying your house and possibly yourself.

My trex 450 almost broke my wrist I was holding it to check the blade tracking and gyro orientation and sensitivity when I accidently hit the idle up from normal mode it tossed a wood blade and then tore out my hand man that thing has torque bfore I knew what happened I was looking at my newly rebuilt heli destroyed on the floor while cradling my wrist ouch ouch ouch won't ever do that again

no more testing in the house or in my hand.
That damn thing is a weapon if not treated with respect.

I just got done patching the walls up with putty and painting over the patched up holes with a primer. Not sure what I am going to do about my blinds though. I XXXXED two of them up pretty bad.

I have gotten a lot better on my 450 now. I still hover indoors every day. It really keys your skill to hover in a tight space.

The downside is my buttcheeks hurt from tension overload.
