e-Miniature Aircraft Furion - Razor - Ion-X > Charging 12S?

Out of curiosity, how are you 12S guys charging those packs? For example Thunder Powers chargers and balancers seem set up to charge two 5S packs in series, for 10S, but I don't see any 12S capability. So far I have only been using up to 10S and haven't had the need for 12S. It would be nice to keep the two 6S packs balanced together somehow...

Thanks in advance,
Spironi

I charge 2 6S packs in parallel with a TP 1010 charger and use two Flight Power V-Balancers. That way thy both get the same charge and close to the same balance. A charger that would charge 12S and one balancer would be the best, don't know of any 12S balancers, but someone really needs to make one. I wish DN would make a 10S or 12S charger like the 4S they make, that would be a kick A$$ charger.

Hello Spiro,

I charge my 6S packs individually. Sometimes I use the same charger for both and sometimes I use two separate chargers with their individual TP-210 balancers.

After the batteries are charged I compare their voltage. When necessary, I discharge the higher voltage pack until they are both within 0.02V. One or two small 5 to 20mAh discharges (at 0.5amps) is usually all that's necessary to match them up. Sometimes they are dead on even though charged separately. Hope this helps.

Chachin..

Schutlze also has a charger that I believe can do up to 14..Albeit it is around a 400-500 dollar charger and they also have a balancer that can balance 14 as well.

If you dont succeed the first time, try and try again. With heli's keep on trying!

It can not do 9 amps per cell when doing 12s.
It max out around 3.9-4amp for 12s charging.
But it works fine for 12s at that rate.

Schulze Next 7.36-12 has built in balancer, it charges 12s at max 250 watt (5amp for 12s). I had some issues with mine, so they are back to the factory for checkup.
