i just got all my tail parts in for my Jr. Voyager E and it seems to be together correctly...When i give it throttle and immed after lift off it drifts to right....No matter how much i adjust the Tail baldes it still does the same thing...I'm scared to lift up for fear it may turn in circles and crash...Any suggestions? i understand that these larger Heli's should go straight up with very little interference from wind or whatever.....Please help...

Make sure the tail rotor is spinning in the correct direction. It could be that you have the belt crossed over.

If you can post some pictures that might help us to help you. There are so many possibilities from ones already mentioned to a faulty gyro.

If you have the instructions it will show how the blades are to be installed and which direction they should be turning. I really would start there as what you have described is a direct result of improperly installed blades and/or opposite rotation of the tail rotor.

Also please provide your entire system setup as this will also help us too.

Scale crazy is correct. The blade installation and rotation are the first place to start. You mention that you are using a GY 240 gyro. Have you set up the mechanical tail linkage to give a fairly decent hold on the tail first? And next would be the gyro settings (Gain Reversing etc.) So many things to check. Pics would be helpful. The tail blade rotation should have the blade closest to the nose rising into the airflow of the main rotor......Dave

posting progress report

Sorry for the long delay in response...
ok i just freekn took the whole heli apart and put back together...so now i need to start with other issues before i get back to the tail shifting to the right when lifting off...I just finish putting together and i'm learning a lot about this Swash plate...Ok here's the deal...When i have my Heli on the table with the Main blades disconnected,,,,i am now testing out the motor cause i just mounted it..I turn on Radio and give it a little Throttle and i noticed when i turn throttle down i get a sharp stop to the motor and it shifts the motor out of place on the Frame....Why the Heck does it do that..I havent done anything different but take apart and put back together....When giving Throttle it spins fine but soon as i let throttle back to "0" it seems to have a sharp stop...The Blades keep spinning like normal,,slowing stopping but i get this abrupt sharp stop on the gears.....Pleasssssse help......
I'm goin nuts..Hvnt even Flown this Freekn Heli yet....I really want to get this thing right....
Please respond...

some ESC's have a brake function when stopping. It is usually possible to turn it off. You will have to find the paperwork for the ESC and read up on programming it. Or tell us what model the ESC is and maybe we have experience with it.

finall

Yeah, that's what it was..i as was able to dissable it.....
Heli is finally Flying ok....i am only hovering it for now....
i dont trust this Heli to go out and do serious manuevers....i have my tail trim alllllll the way to the max cause my tail seems to go right immed upon lift off so i just trimmed it all the way to right and it goes up fine now but i do notice when i am hovering and i give it a full throttle i notice the heli spins....Just hovering and swerving around the park is fine but i am scared to take it beyond the hovering mode.....I'm assuming at higher speeds the tail may not act right....

BTW here is a photo of my Jr. Voyager E and Heli max 400

I put Raptor landing gear and a Gaui 550 canopy on the Jr. Voyager and then i put the Voyager Landing gears, Align 450 Tail and Canopy on the Helimax 400......Looks pretty Cool and gives it a different appearance...

So my tail problem is finally fixed....Just adjusted the linkages and kinda started over again with the settings.....
well here's my complaint about this Heli,,,,,At this point, i think i got it as best as it's gonna get...I'm still a beginner so i'm only hovering but the Heli Flies okkkkayyy....I am not to satisfied with the performance...On you tube there's a guy Flying Jr. Voyager E at night in his backyard and that heli looks soooooo Freekn smooth....Mine doesnt seem to Fly that way....I am not sure i want to take the chance and do side to side and tail to me or fly it wayyyy up in the sky manuervering...Everything on this heli is stock with all the plastic parts....I mean is this Jr. Voyager E a low quality Heli? is it worth investing money to get all the upgraded parts or should i just get a Trex 500 or 600....I like the voyager but my Helimax 400 Flies much smoother.......Please advise cause i want a big Heli but am not sure i want to invest in upgraded parts for this one......If anyone has any good experience please let me know...Not looking to do 3d or anything, just want a smooth heli to the point i can do everything else but 3d....

It's not a low quality heli, it just a heli that is showing it's age. It was designed around old power systems when 3D flying was not even a thought with an e-powered heli.

As for spending the cash to upgrade, I'd have to say no, unless you enjoy modifying and tinkering with helis. There are far better helis out there that are ready out of the box for less money. I've spent nearly $1200 dollars in upgrades and now I have a formidable heli. In truth though, the only remaining stock parts are the landing struts, the tail belt, tail blades, canopy, main mast and tail shaft. The rest are upgrades thus this heli is really not a Voyager E.

If I were in your shoes I'd keep the VE you have, spend more time fine tuning your setup and with the money you were to spend on upgrades spend on crash replacement parts. Then, when you feel comfortable with it, the Vibe 500 (JR Super Voyager E 4S) will be out and you can purchase that, or any of the other 425-450mm blade helicopters that are on, or about to be, on the market.

I love this size heli as it is still small enough for park flying yet large enough to fly in winds. It is also sized large enough to not be twitchy, yet small enough to keep the cost of the power system in check.

i agree with what your saying,,,,however,,,i always loved, am i mean loved the larger Helis....Raptor 90SE....ohhhhh man, i love that size and wish i had it but for now the voyager will have to do like u said and i need to focus on trimin but it seems to be in a shape at this moment beyond trimin,,,in other words how much better can i trim it at this point...Belt's tight,,blades are ballanced,,pitch is set pretty good, Bigger landin skids,,,,all linkages are tight,,,,,but im not satisfied with the way it Flies compared to the Heli-Max 400 i have......So if im gonna keep the Voyager,,what 1 upgrade would u recomend i do so that i can get the confident to take it further out the hovering mode........I have a 240 Gyro which is from what people told me is fine for this Heli...I have a Futaba S3004 Gyro Servo,,,Hitec HS-225bb servos for my main swash plate,,,,,,,Futaba T6EXHP TX ( 72 mgz )........Carbon Fiber Blades,,,using 1 1800mAh 11.1 EVO Lipo....So i am not sure if i just need better parts,,,,,and if so which upgrade should i focus on....i see there's lot's of upgrades and im sure if i spent a good $300 i can really get some solid main parts but is the heli gonna Fly like a night and day difference?

At the same time if i do get another Heli it's gonna be twice as big...I want Electric only but i want a Trex 600 Size Heli...What do you call that a 50 size Heli??

so that's my delima...But to make a realllll long story short...i just want to get the Voyager to Fly realllly realllly smooth...I spent so much time with it i need to make it as perfect as i can get it with the original parts i have..

BTW is 1800mAh to small for this Heli.... should i be using 2200mAh?
