So this morning has become an expensive one. I just hit the "Complete your order" button at Tower for a new 6EX, GY240 and servos. Now the only thing original to the heli is the heli itself, the lame arse charger and the batteries. What started out as an innocent $150 heli purchase is now an ever widening $900 hobby and I have yet to hover the thing. Ah but it is all good fun and if I was not spending the money on helis, it would be something else.

yep thats how it works but you could of started out bouying a 450 size heli and had $900 wrapped up in it and no way to charge the battery. but the radio has like a 9 model memory so you can use it with 9 helis just need to buy receivers and the gyro youll love Im gonna buy another one myself its simple to setup.

Its really crazy what you can spend on these things. The King is truly on the light side though. Did you know that you can spend $500.00 on a single LiPo battery? Now thats just downright wrong!

Me personally, Im gonna need about 100ft of blade stock to keep going. That or actually drive to the nearby school to fly it. Or only fly on windless days. Gotta do something.

Are you guys trying to cheer me up? Or scare the crap out of me? Realistically if I can hover for under a grand, I will be happy.

You could always go buy a Airhog Havoc. They are only about 60 bucks. They hover just about all the time..Sorry couldn't resist.

Well I figured I could buy G4, learn stuff on it and then decide to keep it or ebay it. Right now I am liking it but once I get to the point where I can hover, it may or may not be very useful to me.

As for heli purchases, I am currently thinking that I want to get my heli set up well and that should help me fly.

lot of people swear by the sim hovering to stay sharp and even after practicing maneuvers. I just cant do it its like studying for a math test for me.

Its true if your heli is setup youll go alot further you should have someone go through yours and show you how its done. I didnt have anyone who was good at it I learned the hard way with spare parts.
