| You guys SAY that but...Who here has flown a gasser for 45 minutes straight? Anyone? Comon, let's have a show of hands! I've done it and let me tell you it is the most agonizing thing when you have to do it and you've been waiting fo the gas to run out since about 20 minutes into the flight.
While it may sound appealing, its more practical to keep it lighter, have a GOOD 15 minute flight, and then land to refuel and relax a bit -- let someone else fly. Helis are demanding on the pilots to make them fly and fly well, after 15 to 20 minutes your tired and if you're still flying you're just going around in circles waiting for the gas to run down.
A generator on the other hand is priceless, because it gives you the freedom to refuel and fly all day long. Definately find a place to mount it and replace the weight of excess fuel with a generator, much more worth it!
