Radio - Servo - Gyro - Gov - Batt > Spartan DS 760 & Trex 600 Nitro very low gain...

Hi,

I buy a DS760 to go with my Trex 600, but I must decline sharply the gain in AVCS mode >25%

I have mounted as shown in the notice with the metal plate beetween the two two different foams, I put on two cyclic's servos on the option plate.

It is normal that the gain is so low ? Or I have an other problem ?

Thx

The ds760 user guide was recently updated and contains more details on setting up the gain. The new version is available on the Spartan website and I think you will find your answer there.

I was trying out the Spartan a little today, and noticed low gains, but not as low as yours.

I tried the recommended way, ie. futaba foam, metal plate, thin foam followed by the gyro, and got the gain up to 46% with out any problem.
Then I tried just the futaba foam in between the gyro and heli, and although the gain stayed the same, the performance seemed to improved.

Note: this gyro is mounted at the back of the main mast!

At this gain though I felt that the piro consistency was still not quite 100% as what I am used to, so I will hopefully have a little play around next weekend with it again.

I wounder if the Trex600 tail geometry has a little to do with the tail performance with the 760

Thanks for the service Angelos

I realized that my OS ball bearings were dead do you think that this might upset the gyro due to vibration for instance?

Apart from that I am generally very pleased with this gyro because with only 25% of gain it already works very well.
Very easy to adjust and very efficient.

It is just that I buy the USB flash Link to settle gain stop and start and it will be perfect.

Thx

Bad engine bearings will certainly upset the gyro and cause for a lower gain, as the engine is running rough causing vibrations through out the heli.
Change the bearings before damage is caused to the engine.
