Flybarless Rotor Head Systems > VStab on logo 14 questions

I have just installed my V-stab on my logo14 and seems to be working on the bench but have a few questions as this is my first setup. I am using a 6100 servo that comes with the lt6100 gyro and using a JR 790 receiver.
my question is everytime I move the aileron the tail kicks for just a second is that normal? also the swash seems to be slow on the elevator and aileron, pitch is very fast.

also when I move the helicopter on any axis by hand the swash moves very little is that due to the gain or is it related to the slow movement of the swash as mentioned above.

I have gone into the servo setup and have put in for max torque. It helped some but not a whole lot...

any suggestions

And I guess with this system you want to make sure that it's correct on the bench before lift off.

Did you use the stock settings for the V-bar?

One quote I found was,
Quote
The tail rotor will always move off center, even when it is
trimmed. This is irrelevant and has NO effect during flight.
. I'm not sure if this is what you're experiencing with the tail.

Will have to checkout your setup, it looks like an interesting new toy.

VStabi has very slow reactions at the bench. It is normal behaviour, all ok in flight.

Using the 6100 Servo, be sure that the travles on both sides are limitet with max. 80. The servo will run out of specs with >85 and get forceless!

To be sure that you have no bad issues with aileron => tail set the aileron feed forward value at th ex rudder (def. 15) to 0 and try again.

Now you shouldn't have tail movement while steering aileron.

If you have tail movement then it can be a problem with the TX/RX. Let me know in this case and post complete TX/RX modulation, frequency and also your connected channels with the functions and free channels. Then we will start to try a workaround for this problem.

you were right by setting the value to 0 it stopped.. should I put it back to 15? so everything seems to be working alright except there is a lil bit of drift on the tail. When you leave it at neutral it will drift to the end and if I move the trim the other direction one click it will move in that direction. Almost like there is no "0" setting..

The little Tail drift at the Bench is normal. You can increase the Sensor and stick deadband to 5 or 10, this should stop it.

Pleas set the torque feed forward to the rudder servo to the default values (35/15/15) this will give a better tail performance.

Heliplanet,

Is it possible with this system to set in delay in the tail rotor? As I'm sure you know the Synergy seems to be sensitive to NOT having delay in the gryo.

Thanks for the info.

Thanks Heliplanet, I will set those back to default..30/15/15 Can't wait to try it in the air.. I love the way you just plug it in and set all your parameters. The csm gyro's used to be like that.. I now take my laptop with me to the flying field cause most of my electrics are controlled or monitored on the computer.

have to love that.

@ cdrking:

for usual "stick feeling" like a 401 use about 40% of expo at the tail stick.

If you want to have a softer tail acceleration, use the stick limiter in VBar software:

hey Jeff the system is truly amazing. Pitch is about 30 degrees even though the motor couldn't handle it. There are more adjustments then I could ever imagine using. Some on the radio and others on the software. It will take a while until I am truly comfortable with it.
I will have to show it to you if you haven't already tried it.
