I just picked mine up yesterday, VERY nice TT. First thing I did was check run out on the crank. Dialed in at a perfect ZERO. Best I ever got out of a hyper was .006. The crank and con rod look to be very well made as well. As does the head and piston.

Ran a tank through it, even rich you can tell its going to be strong. And MUCH smoother than a hyper. It has a different tone to it also, more of a growl to it. Cant wait to get a few more tanks through it so I can beat it up. I just hope it runs consistent unlike TTs in the past.

One other thing I noticed that I REALLY like, Its has a 3 year warranty.. Way to go TT.

Yes, any after market pipe will fit. I am running an Align for now. I will switch to the Hatori 522 when it comes in..

Dont know who has them in stock, my LHS ordered 2 from Ace on tuesday and I picked them up thursday. So they are available, you probably just have to order it.

Just out of interest , does anyone know if there is a pdf of the manual available anywhere ? Failing that , what does the manual say about fuel requirements ?

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

Ace doesnt have a PDF file up yet.
But fuel requirements are standard 50.

10-30%nitro content with min 20%oil. I am running CY30%.

Guys,

Over here on the other side of the pond I'm running Magnum 20% nitro 22% oil - and the MP5 works very well.

My flying skills aren't upto all out 3D, but at my level this little engine has more go than my previous 2 Hypers.

Man, I'm soo tempted to get a new Redline, especially with this 3 year warranty deal. Can anybody confirm where they saw that it has 3 year warranty?

Yes, in the instruction manual that came with it.

I just dont think it will run right in a kight 3d, your probably better off with the ULTRA powerful Ys...

I would think that any shop that carries TT engines would start to stock them. AFAIK, they have just been released here from ACE. So it could be a couple weeks to get everywhere.

Now Vic, why would you want one of these ol TT engines when you got one of those shiny new YS engines?

Well, several reasons. First, the YS50 has been giving me hell tuning problems. I'm at the point now I've pulled it out and put in an OS Hyper 50. Second is that the 3 year warranty sounds very, very good!! Third, I hear this Redline engine has some great power and torque, better than the OS Hyper 50. I haven't ordered it yet, but very tempted to do so and give it a shot.

About mufflers.
I only have a Hyper/522.I would like to get a TT53R.
I saw from Helikraft that Hatori has made a muffler for TT53R,it's the 523.I compared the dimensions with the 522 and the 523 is longer at the last section.Waiting for reports...

OK let me see if I've got this straight in my mind. The YS makes insane power but ya can't get it tuned to suit you so would that be right? Secondly, while you get the YS sorted out you decide to put that fleatrap OS back in just so you can fly? Would that be right as well?

I'm just trying to figure this one out so I can better understand going forward. I've got 2 of the Redlines that will be here on Tuesday and all I can say is they better run like scalded apes, otherwise I'm not going to be happy paying OS money and not getting OS performance.

TMoore,

You won't be disappointed with the power and torque, their also made real nice - the carb mounting is great, and the insides look real good, NTN rear bearing, no crank web.

LOL, Fleatrap OS. That is funny man. Im not into crazy 3D flying, and just do basic sport flying right now, so the OS Hyper will be just fine. I think all I really need is a new check valve for the YS50 to tune right. But I'm not about to ruin another weekend trying to figure it out. I really want to just be able to fly, and I know the OS would do it.

Hopefully the Redline will be a dream to tune.

Vic,

There's a real easy way to tell if the check valve is working. If the tank is pressurizing and you can run the engine enough to get the tank pressurized, once you shut the engine off the tank should stay pressurized until you vent that pressure.
