| I would have used green loctite (retainer)..
Actro motor service as I do it:
Take motor apart: Remove the C-Clip. Then just pull it apart. Can be a little tight if you have scratched the shaft.
Be careful when put it back together because magnets will pull, if you have a finger somewhere inbetween it can be REALLY bad.
Replace the shaft: Take motor apart. Unscrew the bottom screw. Heat the bottom part with a torchgun or in the oven for a while (not too hot, magnets loose it magnetism in high temp) Put a smaller metal rod in the bottom where screw sat, hit it with a hammer. Clean everything good with alchohol. Apply green loctite on new shafts bottom and in the can, press the new shaft in. Then I put the shaft against wood and hammer on the can. Make sure the can is straight (turn the motor when you put it back together to see if the can wobbles)
Cut the shaft without removing the shaft:
Take motor apart. Put a doctor glove on the can, make a small hole and put the shaft through, cut the shaft with a dremel. Glove will protect the motor from attracting metal.
Un-needed stuff: Depending on your setup, the C-clip really dont make much of a security, magnets/current will hold the motor in place, so you can loose it.
thin metal "protection" around the cables, I take them off on mine, provides a little better cooling with it off.
Missing above is how to change bearings, I have never done it, a friend did it for me, so If anyone need to know, I gonna ask him. |
