I `m selling my Maxi joker 2 because I’m afraid of use 2 batteries in series because I have a bad experience with one of the batteries caught fire, Can I used the Thunder power extreme v2 5000mAH 37 v 10 cell in my maxi joker 2, and that way I only have to charge and balance the battery one time, I’m new in the Joker world, any help will be appreciate.

Thank You

Yes if you are setup and geared correctly for 10s then a 10s 5000mAh pack would be fine. I would be concerned about why the last packs caught fire though! A10s pack will be nearly twice the price of a 5s so best to establish best practice to avoid a repeat. Maybe you had a bad pack in which case there was nothing you could do. You will also need a 210 watt 10s capable charger to charge at 1c

If you find lipos off-putting have you considered A123 packs.

This battery is too high for my Maxi Joker 1 Ticopage (size is 84x45x164). Check if 84 is not too height or large for your bird. I asked Thunder Power 3 months ago to build a long one as (42x48x320) for me. Due to a fire at the factory and hollidays, my request was a little bit temporary holded... It should be there this week in my mail I hope.
Regarding the specs and the weight, it is IMHO and with the FlightPower EVoLite 10s1p 5350mah the best battery for your bird.

Were you charging the batteries in series or in parallel? IMHO, flying with two 5s batteries in series and charging in parallel gives you better control over the battery balance.

I finally received my special TP5000-10sx Extrem V2 (10s1p 5000mah 25C continous) from Thunder Power. It is a long size I asked TP to do it as the brick won't fit in my MJ1 (regular size is 84x45x164)... and in many other birds ... Just like weird
The dimension of this are 330 x 42 x 45 mm. IMHO, it should be the standard...

You can see here the size comparison with a Flight Power Evo 20 3700mah.
And it fit also in my Henseleit 3dmp-e... I just have to test what will be the flight with 265gr more (vs the Evo20).
Regarding the Joker, it will be simply the perfect size and weight with only 1225 gr for 5000mah in 10s !

I remember, long time ago... I had NIMH 3300 32cells for 2.5Kg....

Other than just having one battery to charge are there more advantages to running 1 10 cell pack instead of 2 5 cell packs?

My father and I are just getting started with a Joker and are looking for good packs to buy.

What do you guys suggest?

(we have a Maxi Joker 2...eventually will be a AP rig)

When in doubt...auto out

I'm only flying 2x5S configuration but I guess a 10 pack is going to be a little smaller, a little lighter and easier to fix to the mini joker. The reason being that you may have to push it one way or the other to have the CG just right. With 5S, my packs line up with a post where I would like to put the velcro strap... with a 10S, you are sticking the whole pack as one... should be easier and stronger...

appart of those, can't see any advantage. 5S pack me be more reusable, more flexible in term of configuration and me cost less in case of a crash is you damage only one of the two
