Heli Class

Has everyone signed up for the Heli Class. Todd Bennett and Matt Botos are coming back again. These guys are great. I took the class last year and had a blast. I highly recommend it. I learned alot and none of it was 3D stuff this class will help anyone starting out as well as those who are just starting to do forward flight. As well Todd goes thru the setup so you learn how to setup your own Heli with out getting help from the local Hobby Store.

Check out the Todd's web page.
http://www.freestyle3d.com/schoolprep.html

The dates are Sept. 24-25 (Wed-Thurs) and will be at the Bernalillo field. Times are TBD.

The cost will be $350.00 per person and we only have 3 spots left.

Make sure you check out the rest of the site also. There is a bunch of info and testimonials.

And after the Class the Event is Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

I also posted the Class on my AMA District 8 post see here:

I've got a quick question to anyone in Albuquerque. I want to get onto Kirtland AFB while I'm there for the fun fly to take some pictures of my heli next to one of the static displays. Can anyone get me on the base?

Don't Panic

Yeah Ready Heli. Quickly becoming my favorite dealer

Keep them prizes rolling in Dave. Any idea on what the big one will be a kit maybe

Ask Mark how I almost got run off from the Funfly in Hobbs for winning the big prize two years in a row now.

I probably won't have any luck left by the time I get there but it won't stop me from contributing to your cause.

There was a funfly in Hobbs? It just doesn't seem like that kind of place ... as I lived there for about 10 years. Weird.

When you spend $100 on Tickets you tend to win. and in Hobbs there were only 22 registered pilots.
See http://www.ama-dist-8.org/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=233

He still went home with one of the big three prizes.

See ya here!!

It takes a hundred smackers at Albuquerque which I don't mind contributing. It only took 30 at Hobbs. It must have been the skin activated CA I dabbed on the tickets

The Hobbs club has been there since 1947 shortly after the USAF shut down the field they fly on.

I know where the field is and I have even seen folks out there from time to time, but I had no idea it was that organized.

Man I am getting all excited about the fun fly, can't wait till it gets here

I had no idea either to tell the truth. Jim Rice the District 8 VP was at the FF and he said he flew there at funflies in the early 60s and the club was pretty big then even. There was one 85 year old guy who showed up but didn't fly and said the field was being used regular by him and his son who flew in the NATs through late 40s and 50s.

Malloof field that this FunFly is held at is at least 50 years old too. They used to call it Rattlesnake field. People have been big into RC for a long time in NM

Maloof has a Historic Landmark designation from AMA and ARCC has been around since 1955 if I am remembering the info corectly. Maloof is a very nice public park. It is run by Open Space division of the City of Albuquerque.

The Club was out there tonight doing night Flying and a pot luck dinner. It was good.

You can see soom photos of the field at www.arcconline.com and this photo was from Last year.
