| Follow the instructions for cutting the wire. I use Deans whips, I have for over twenty years. I have had them in 100" plus airplanes that were flown out of sight overhead. Have had them in many, many helicopters. In fact, I've never used anything but a whip in a heli. The Deans instructions recommend to cut to no less than 4". I mount mine with Velcro to the servo tray. I normally use a StrongBox for the receiver and battery. You should not poke the tip through the canopy. Keep it all inside, pointing forward. Do support the tip of the whip, so it doesnt vibrate to death. Don't fear the questions, as we all enjoy passing on our hard earned experience, in the hopes of saving someone else from disaster. |
