Safety - RC Helis are not toys > DONT TRUST

The other day I got a T-rex 450 SE V2 the heli was built by someone else. Eager to get flying I installed my gear and had a quick look over the heli. Everything SEEMED to be in order, so I preceeded to fly it. It flew well for about 3mins before the spindle let go of the blade grips and they flew out with the blades. This was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me to do with rc and I have ad some pretty wild moments to do with other peoples stupidity. The minute before I had been hovering the heli at eye level, this could have been so catastrophic all because someone didn't loctite the blade grip bolts into the spindle. Never trust a second hand heli even if it has been built by someone with experience. Always check the heli from the ground up.
Cheers,
Sam

The same thing has happened with me with the same heli, a semi-pro was testing it for me, just gentle hovering, and then the bladegrips came loose, luckily no one got hit by the blades wich almoste flew 60feet. After that, i have gone trough the whole heli and added threadlock on all screws going into metal...
