Finally I've got some power! When I received the heli it was set up mild for a trainer (turns out it was still too "wild" which is why it was sold) so........my first few test flights were mediocre in the power and response department......well I've been fiddling with the pitch range, I've got it at 13 degrees now and BOOYAH! now we have lift off. Freaking nice. I'll have it out this weekend provided I don't crash it before then

Great turnout on Sunday...The weather was great but windy.I am ready to take the Yak up for the first time. I taxied it yesterday to get a feel for it a couple of times and the last time it lifted off the ground flew for about 50 ft then I set it back down.....I would have gone for it if it wasnt so windy.

I just got this info from the Flaming Gyeser Flyers news letter.

FUN FLY AT RAMS FIELD SCHEDULED: Keith Leifsen, President of the RAMS wrote the following:

"We will host an invitational Fly-In and Swap meet on Saturday, October 18, with a Rain date of Sunday October 19. All local clubs, and flyers are invited to attend. Should be a great event, and let us get to know some of our peers throughout the area. Please note that you will have to have a AMA card that is current to be able to fly .
The welcome wagon will be open and we will be serving a hot lunch for a donation of 5.00 . Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Rams and I believe the next one will be at the Flaming Geyser Field .
It will be fun to have a Swap meet include with this event , so dust off that stuff you are not using and bring it on down to sale"

So bring down any thing you want to sell and your helis and wings.
Lets support the RAMS flying field......could be the last time we get to do so.......

What are the odds of landing your heli's tail rotor lengthways into a dog turd? Well lucky me my number came up!! Fortunately it was of a semi hard consistency and didn't get splattered all over my tail fin and boom....... all in a days flight.

Was at the field today at about 2 o'clock. Tried a few firsts with my heli. Backwards figure eights, a tail slide with a vertical twirl (whatever that's called), a tic toc and then my usual routine of course. My tic tocs were freaking atrocious but you' know, gotta start somewhere. backwards figure eights weren't too bad, was exiting my tail slides backwards too.

hey guys!

I just found out about this field via RR.com and I've got a question, due to my work schedule I cant make it down on Sundays (unless i'm lucky) so what I'm wondering is, can I fly here on weekdays too or is it used for other things. Thanks!
