So what you think, power supply bad? Having it cut off after the few seconds sounds like a heat problem. Make sure all you fans are working and mounted. If they have fins, make sure there is no dust in the fins. If its your power supply, see if you can look inside the power supply case, is it full of dust? then heat will kill it fast. Also make sure the fan is running in the power supply.
I am guessing you are not getting any beeps when you start up your PC, if you are. how many beeps.
I dont know if you would have enough time to get into your BIOS and see if you have a hardware monitoring area, it will show Temps and sometimes fan speeds.
One thing you can try, clean out all the dust, be carefull, dont go crazy with a can of air, sometimes blasting air on your heat sinks and fans can cause more damage. just get the big chunks of dust, blowing air onto the heat sinks and fins, not under the heat sink ot fin. Once you clean it out, then get a fan, point it inside you case and turn it on high. See if that helps. If it does it is for sure a heat problem. |
