i got a big problem on flight time in using scorpion 1000kv 14T
There is only 1.5 minute of 60% throttle flight time
Should I change to Z20a 980kv?

P.S. I'm using hobbywing 60A ESC with 2 x 2200mAh

From what i have read the Scorpion is not the motor for the 550....those that are having good uscess are using the 1600kv....

don't know what garing you are using and how many mah form the lipos....but the Z20 -980 is a great motor for the 550.....gentle flying 6 mins easy on 2200's.....

If you have the oportunity...I would suggest the Z20 to anyone.

How does the power of the Z20 compare with the stock Gaui motor? I'm looking for a little more power. Is it slightly more or less? Thanks.

Depends on which stock motor you have....if you have the 1100 kv then the Z20 has less.....if you have the 890kv then the Z20 has a little more but is similar.

The Z20 outshines the stock motors in the efficiencey department. The stock Gaui motor are amp hogs and ruin 2200 lipos and anything under 20c.....

Most people don't buy it for the power...they buy it for the flight time.

hey, lookin to buy a 550 for some AP and planing on using a z20 motor because of the flight times i can get w/ it. what is the biggest lipo i can get use w/ it. I heard something about ppl using 5s 5000mah battery. has anybody tried this.
I may even stretch it so i could use 600mm blades w/ it.

Well, I've got the Z20 980 and I'm running 8s A123's with it. I've also flown it with 6s 5000 mah TPs. It's kind of heavy but I can still do mild 3D with it. If you just plan on doing AP work you should be able to lift a pretty substantial load with the Z20 and a lighter battery configuration.
