Computer Flight Simulators > G2 Roll Rate slow on one side??..

I flew the Foiler.. I setup with the paddles and my exponential and dual rate been set to never.. hope to get faster response rate...

The funny thing is on hover roll I can roll pretty fast on the left but on the right aileron roll .. boy or boy.. it's a dog.. really slow.... almost like doing a barrel roll... any hint as to what i had done wrong in the setting?.

G-2 Roll Rate?

Hi Namoi, I haven't played with the different changes that can be made, but, did you try recalibrating the TX after the changes? I have had to recalibrate when I change radios, maybe that applies for heli changes before you fly as well? -------------BladeRunner.

Hi Naomi
The roll rate in G2 is slow on all heliīs, slower than my stock Raptor 30 at 1800 rpm rotor speed.
I am using RFD (not G2), but when downloaded the latest upgrade with
G2 flight characteristics for RFD, the roll rate dropped on all helis.
If you want to increase the roll rate you should (as on a real heli) reduce the paddle weight and increase paddle size.
My experience is that you canīt take the parameters from real heli and put them on a RFD(G2) heli and get the same flight characterics.
You have to tweak the parameters outside the "real" parameters to get the same flight characteristics as the real one.

Thanks I will try increase the paddle size... i did reduce the wt on paddle it seem to roll a bit faster.. only thing i notice though i can't seem to get my roll servo to go any higher than 60 percent on both direction no matter how i try to calibrate it.. even try the subtrim increase to 120% any idea as to why?.. or how to increase the throw?.

Hi again
Are you using the RFD "dummy" transmitter or the transmitter interface with your normal transmitter ?
Is it really the subtrim that you have at 120% ?
The subtrim only offsets the centering of the servo and should be as close to zero as possible!
Set Roll Cyclic ATV to 100% or more and dual rate to never and high/low rate to 100% or more.

When using a transmitter with the interface it is recommended to make one model "program" in the transmitter specific for use with the RFD simulator. That "program" should have all subtrims to zero, ATVīs to 100%, no mixers , straight line curves etc.etc. to act as a dummy transmitter. This program could then be used for all planes/heliīs in RFD(G2) when using "Radio type" software radio.

B.t.w. Did you know that it is possible to edit the RFD .heli(.pln) files with notepad . If you make a copy of a default heli/plane, itīs .heli(.pln) file will show up in C: \Program Files\RealFlight\Planes .
You kan then modify and copy/paste parts between different .heli(.pln) files.
In this way you can take a heli/plane from G2 (or an addon CD) and put an image on it from one of the RFD(G2) default "ships" and fly it in RFD (G2).
It is this first row in [Plane Data] that defines the image :
"BasedOn=o:\simproheli\image\planes\30heli.bse"
