I started to tidy up the wires a bit...Is how I ran the wire and antenna OK? I can't see it mattering if the antenna is in front or behind the skid when in flight?

This bird looks familiar to me. Strange
Nice place for the battery and the regulator. IMHO, for winter use, the 10s batterie will warm up the little 2s and it is a good point.
I have no idea for the antenna, why don't you go on 2.4 Ghz ? You already have the transmitter and it is much safer for such beautiful bird no ?
