| Great eventThanks to Ron and the entire GTRCC organization. They put on a great event. I was there Fri/Sat/Sun.
Fri was a typical setup day, lots of flying by the early arrivals.
Sat was great. Very smoothly run event all day. Lots of beginner events that were kept in a separate field from the main flightline. A noon demo of a 30 or 40% plane doing some nice high-alpha, hovering, and torque rolls. Care flight came in with a full scale (Augusta?) for a couple of hours. Lots of great demo flights by Anthony Jager, Ryan Witchie(SP?), Robert, John, Chris, and others. A very nice 3-way demo of hard 3d with flybar-less Logo 600/700 rigs that belong to John and Anthony, with John, Anthony, and Robert flying (and me doing a very poor job of announcing). Very impressive (including the powerloss inverted crash!). Another airplane demo, night flying... and TONS of flying by all of us. Most of the "Grapevine Crew" was present and put lots of fuel and battery cycles in the logbooks.
In other words, a very busy and full day.
Pilot's raffle with tons of prizes; a good cash raffle with several coax helicopters, a radio, and so forth.
Ryan flew some demo flights on Sunday, and Ron flew his 35% Yak for some very nice IMAC sequence and 3d High Alpha hover stuff. Really a great Sunday morning. (Oh yeah, I flew some too).
Really a "Pilots Event". I'll be there next year, and you guys keep up the good work. |
