Fire Rescue Hawk Sport

I will post the pics tonight provided my dial up will work. I have a hawk sport with ccpm, and metal side frames. I put the Fire rescue fuse on, and can tell you all a OS 32 no matter how high you rev it wont get it up very high. Unless you completely gut it out, Im at 4000ft also though. Also I left 80% of the cockpit in there. The 550 blades work great, I ended up cutting 2 1/8" off the boom and tail wire and the fuse fits perferctly. I ordered a OS 50 and soon also the 560 blades. Also going to get the metal clutch housing and motor mount here soon.

Can U get a good pic of how U attached it 2 the floor? It looks great! I thought about using the CCPM too, but it looks like you had to take alot off the cowling to make it work. I wanna Hawk for mine!!!!!!!!!!!

Hawk Mounting

I used 1 inch plastic stand offs in the front and 7/8" in the rear. I determined the measurment back on the bottom plate, by centering the swash plate in the top, then lining up the tail straight back.

By cutting the fuse on the bottom following the gear lines, you can make putting on the sides easier and then glue the pieces cut off to their area, I left mine off cause I haven't got it high enough in the air to matter..

help time

hey wilsonjc81

great bird looks like the ccpm version? anyway for those of us who are stuck with the standard version... who has pics showing how they mounted the fuse and mech together. i am concerned with the clearence for the collective in the front. i am wondering what else i need cut to make have the clearence and keep the tail boom from looking all cocked up?

thanks

Another hawk I found!!

look under projects!!

http://www.flyingtigersrc.com/

He stoped construction for a while, I think he realized the ccpm hacks the heck out of the top and theres no way around it.

If I were to do it a gain I'd take all the insides out and run the standard servo setup. Then Id use the front window mold and heat up thin lexan over the window making a lighter copy and us that. Dont spend money on the ccpm, save it for a 46+ engine upgrade which it really could use. Just my 2cents!!

wilsonjc81,,, did you notice that little bird had only 4 servos !! he used only one servo to operate both the throttle and the collective,,, very interesting, I would like to know how well it worked..

Another littlebird

Also see this forum

More details on comparisons of models that fit into the littlebird fuselage.

Have one myself. No mechanics hangin' out. Nice clean lines. Can be done. I used a Nexus 46.

BUMP

lets open this back up....I've been checking the 21st century fuse threads and I'm hooked!! what an awesome looking setup and project some guys did.

I know you need to do a lot of work to get a hawk in one but will a raven 30 kit fit? (I happen to have one laying around for parts) also will a hawk SE fit?

I know a custom mount is needed but will the stock tube tail fit right into the fuse tail or what kind of work is needed here?

also how do you get the fuse apart is it hinged or bolts or how does that all work out?

looks like they are still available via the link BUT I hope they really are

excited about a little bird or a calvary and thanks everyone
