What's with all the editing and closing of posts?!
I swear if I ever get the gyro to hold right on my Quck 60 Pro that I will throw it around the sky to the best of my ability and it will be on film!

I just installed "zeal" tape on the gyro and it has made a night and day difference on teh drifting issue. No I need to hook the gyro up to the computer and do some more tweaking to get the stops crisper.

The gyro is a CSM ICG540...anyone familiar with them feel free to PM me with any setup tips/advice.

I spent the last month trying to get the OS 61 tuned right, but never could get it to hold a hover without kicking the tail around...regardless of the gyro drifting. So now I have a larger volume muffler that will be here monday... I hope to get the 60 in the air and dialed in by friday. Then if the weather is good this weekend I will get to go fly(do more than hover)!

My MS 680 carbon "3D" blades are sitting here waiting to be bolted on as soon as the gyro and engine act right!

Once the 60 gets flown and handles some mild 3D, then I wil be installing the Weston 75 that I have here...It has the matchinig two piece pro tuned pipe... the thing is the size of a small baseball bat!

I can't wait to fly the heli with the Weston motor and some carbon blades... I'm REALLY getting bored of doing 3D with my Hawk Pro... It's WAY underpowered to say the least.

I just bought some of the blue braided servo wire sleeving to make the heli look sharp. I also have a new QWW metal tail on the heli now since my last tail was damaged in my hot start incident.
And I also picked up a used canopy for it...
Will insert pics of the new parts in just a minute...

Z,
The problem is that we hear empty promises like this all of the time. JA was so positive about it that I actually believed him. I was anxious to see a video of this heli in action. And then like a light switch he suddenly changed from their biggest supporter to their number one public enemy. I don't know what happened but the video never appeared. Something was stinky there.

You can find a 3D video of any other helicopter out there including the Century Hawk! But I can not find a single video of a QWW machine doing any hot flying. I just want to see it in action. I believe that can do it because so many people say that it can. Show me.

I flew a QWW heli once. It was way too heavy to really do much but I suppose it would make a good beginners machine.

You don't really need a "name" to fly the machine because just about everyone is stick banging these days but come on guys. If this heli can hold its own against the best of them then show us.

If it cant, thats fine to but stop saying that it can.

It was a Quick 50 Pro. I don't know how much it weighed but it felt heavy in the air.

SW16v2 and ND90 were quite heavy in the air as well, I stated this many times. The new birds look promising, cant wait to see some flight videos.

The new Batcopter is weighing in about 8.5 fully equpped. Note that this is also before the last changes the QWW made, so that number may be just a bit less. Also others configurations might come with different numbers also. I have seen other popular birds weigh in at 7.9 to 8lbs fully equipped. I don't know if all of these other helis had all metal bearing blocks and pretty much anything that moves metal or not. I'm sure QWW could have saved some weight by using plastic instead of metal, but that is not their style. As for flying "heavy" for the older models, I can agree with that. On the other side of that the older Quicks will do every FAI/F3C manuver in the book. With the new design of the Batcopter, we will have to see what the reports say after folks start flying it and putting it though some 3d manuvers. We have to keep in mind that heavier weight doesn't always mean "heavier feel" while flying. Of course, I don't mind a little bit of weight which might translate into not having to rekit after a crash.....which seems to be the only alternative for about 75% of the crashes of another popular 50 size heli out there.

Not really. I'm not even griping. I'm just saying that I flew one and it felt very heavy in the air. Hot 3D was out of the question. That is why I am very anxious to see video of one tearing up the sky. I believe that it can happen.

That leave me out but what did happen to JA?

Understood. I haven't had a chance to see the newer stuff fly. Show me the video!!!

I have posted the weight of the 60 and 90 several times, and it's NOT any heavier than the other machines out there.
The Quick 60 pro weighs 10.5 lbs ready to fly minus fuel, and I run a huge sub-C Rx pack. The frame ONLY weight is 7.5 lbs.

Also, I'm not here supporting anything or anyone!
I'm here trying to share my experience with this heli.... I personally love the design and layout.. It's clean looking and very easy to perform maintenence.

I'm currently trying to find a JR venture slipper clutch to install on the 60... this will give it a driven tail.

Also, my header should be here in a week from Europe...when it finally arrives, I will be able to install the Weston 75 and see how it performs.
