There is a belt that runs off the main shaft of the heli thru the boom to the tail box. That is what drives the tail rotor blades...

you could try using peel and stick velcro
Good suggestion Doug. I might have to give that a try.

In the mean time here are the other things I tried today.

I tried out one of the digital JR servos that came with the DX7 kit. Its slower than my HS-81 but its digital. Results were a little better than the HS-81. I'm not sure how it happened but as soon as I replaced the servo, the blade tracking was off again.

I put the HS-81 back on reset the blade tracking. I also moved to the inner hole on the servo arm. This was even better than the JR. The vibration is still visible, but the wag is much less.

Tail wag

Gregor

I had to decrease the rotate rate setting when I installed the JRS185 Replacing the hs-50 I had on there nothing I would do corrected the tail waG till I did that. Since it was a better servo and faster I guess it was over correcting all the time depending on how fast your tail servo is you might try that.

Gary, thanks for reminding me, I forgot to mention that I fiddled with the rotate rate. I don't really like that LogicTech has a setting called servo speed that is actually servo type. Rotate rate seems more like a servo speed adjustment than a rotate rate adjustment. After all the radio's travel adjustment is more a rotate rate than the setting on the gyro. Regardless, I tried most settings and found that for the HS-81 the lowest or slowest setting seemed to dampen the wag the best. I suspect that with less vibration you could turn the rotate rate up for snappier tail.
