I bought a lepton from a RR GG and I set up the recomended Pitch curve, but man get it in a hove and add just a little pitch and it want to shoot up fast pull back and you come down just as fast like a po go stick any ideas?

I found the same thing with my lepton now I am running -9/+9 in all modes with a linear pitch curve. It works well but you have to remember that no matter waht you do the lepton will not be a docile machine. Also I would suggest changing the throttle curve to keep the head speed higher I use 0,60,90,90,100 in normal and in idle 1 and 2 100,90,85,90,100. The recommended curves were terribly wrong.

Depending on your HS, Lepton could hover pretty well with just 4* of collective pitch. Just try to play with your pitch curve. Like, if you hover 3/4 stick, measure the blade pitch at 3/4 stick, and adjust it to 4*. Then on the test flight add a few points if not enough.......

Hi

Is it the std motor, esc, 4s battery, 24t pinion?

If it is, try get a 22t pinion. I found the head speed very high with the 24t pinion. By lowering the head speed it made it much nicer to fly.

Regards
Paul

Hey Bob:

When I first built and flew the Lepton, I thought I made a mistake buying it because I fly scale, so I just wanted something small to loop and roll a bit-no 3-D at all. I could hardly fly this thing! And I've been flying for many years. It was extremely sensitive and wanted to shoot all over the place. So I put a couple of collar weights on the flybar, added a touch of expo, readjusted the pitch settings just like I have in my scale ship, and as Paul said, lowered the headspeed. With no wind, I get an almost perfectly stable hover out of her, and I get much more flying time. I can still do fast passes and aerobatics with no problem. Hope this helps.

Funny to hear all of you saying that the headspeed is too high. If anything I find that the higher you push the headspeed the better this thing flys. It is a bit sensitive but I think that with the proper pitch and throttle curves it flies great as is. However, if you want to make yout lepton more docile try the stretch kit. I tried it and for more relaxed flying its very nice. People will tell you that it is too expensive ut you don't need to buy the boom supports, the carbon fins or the hirobo blades. Just get the boom belt and tail blades use a 22 tooth pinion and the helimax 440mm blades which you can buy for about 45$ All in all this makes the stretch kit affordable at about 150$ and you will definetly like the way it flies much more.

Heavier main blades will help also. Try the SAB FAI Blades out. They are heavier than most other blades out there.
