QuickWorldWide Ep and Wet Fuel Helis > Who the hell is JA Allen?

Just a question, it was posted on another thread,

Who the hell is JA Allen? From JA's website, he's part of a band, but what does that have to do with helis? He's written a couple times that he's "well known", but I've never heard of him, and judging from other people's posts, neither has anyone else.

Make no mistake, I have no love for QWW, in fact, I do NOT like the way they do business, and I'm not impressed with their products, they look impressive at first glance, but after really looking, I've always found something that turned me off. However, that doesn't change the fact that you're putting yourself out there as Jesus of the heli world, and I'd like to see something to back it up.

JA Allen is just another person in a long line annoyed with QWW. The QWW lovers group becomes smaller every day.

Simple as that.

I remember D bledsoe and Jeepworld being really supportive and then much the same happening.

Thats 3 people AT LEAST who publicly have fallen out with QWW

Oh, no doubt, but the difference here is that they never claimed to be a celebrity. That's what makes JA difference, Jeep and Bledsoe appeared out of no where, never claiming to be more than just another average heli guy, where JA is a "well known flyer". I've never heard of him, and a search on here and Google doesn't pull up anything beyond "Vampire of Vaudville", which I guess is his band.

As usual!

I tell it how it is. It really seems odd that always someone new comes, with all the best of intentions, falls out and next thing you know theres war every month or so.

Makes you wonder doesnt it.

Hey Jeff...

Do you remember me flying this bird at OC's in 2004?
http://runryder.com/helicopter/t390072p1/

You were present at its first 2 flights. The video in the link is its last flight. Retiring the 'bird for one in less pristine condition.

Cheers!

Hey brother.

Yes I do remember, and it was great! I loved that machine! I am glad it is being retired in great condition.

I may be able to see you this coming season (there may be a contest event close coming up in GA I saw) so we can maybe hang some more, it was fun to talk and hang at the gathering with you.

I am not in this forum anymore my mang, I am at the F3C forum mostly my man. Obvious getting F'D over reasons.

Eury,

The reason you don't know who "JA Allen" is, is because that's not his given name.

I know he won't tell you what his credentials are, but just because you don't know who he is, that's not an indication that he has no notoriety. I know the brother outside of forums, and in the other circles he travels in (outside of the model helicopter world), he's actually pretty well-known in his own right. Even in the helicopter world, he's not exactly an unknown quantity where it counts.

Why a professional name, then? Simple... flack coverage. There's value in a certain level of public anonymity. I'm noone important, but I have a certain level of professional identity. Not using my given name every single place I go keeps me from having to listen to people who have an issue with me for one reason or another. My guess is that JA's reasons are something similar.

You'll hear the name "JA Allen" more and more as the years go by. Of that, I'm certain.

Well, if he is using a different name, he shouldn't be making posts about how he is well known. If he is well known, then he should come out and say who he is. If you are someone who is putting yourself out there as an authority and posting opinions and making statements on a product, you shouldn't be hiding your actual identity if you expect people to trust what you have to say. To insist on anonymity only shows that you do not believe in your own statements, and calls them into question. I stand behind what I say, hence why my name is at the bottom of every post I make. Anyone with even the slightest desire to contact me could very easily do so, and that's fine, because I stand behind what I say. If you don't have enough belief in your own statements that you need to be anonymous, then you shouldn't be putting yourself out there as a "well known" pilot and a credible source.

Well, that's one man's opinion, and you certainly have a right to it.

So I guess until Nick Crego knows who you are, you're nobody.

Thank You RCHelicopterGuy, I hope we meet some day, but I agree with you on anonymity, especially on RR... But, once the season starts, it will all be good and out there.

Seriously, Eury, I dont know who you are and actually I am not sure if I want to know now, but, I would like to meet you in person someday, and I am not at all an ego driven guy, why I bruised yours? I dont know...
Last post on this. Its such a drag actually, its stupid to argue with people on the Internet. Anyone can catch me in person, once my schedule is up. I can talk then. I have no problem meeting people and discussing things. I do it all the time. I love that part of it actually.

Who am I? I'm nobody. I'm not important in the least, and I've never claimed to be. That is the difference here, you've put yourself out there as an authority and someone who is well known, where I freely admit that I'm just an overgrown kid who likes to likes to play with shiny toys that fly around.

How is it a bruised ego to expect that people who put themselves out there as authorities to stand behind what they say? You come on here, and make posts saying that you are a well known heli flyer, and when questioned, say that people can't know who you are. Okay, that makes a lot of sense. Yeah, I'm the one with issues here.

Are you even replying to the same thread? Your original "Yeah, whatever" at least made sense. The edit doesn't even make sense. Guess I struck a nerve.
