Go to great planes E-fest in champaign feb 9-10 in champaign you may pick up a used T for real cheap. Or even a brand new one.
I'll have to look into that, sounds like fun. I had just gotten into this hobby at the time of the I hobby expo in Chicago. I didnt know about so I missed it.
Any hoot, is it correct that The Belt CP parts are compatible with Aligns parts (I didnt use the t-word)
I dont have a problem buying a trex(oops slipped). Parts are definately widley available at my LHS. Is the price tag worth it though? I know that you have to throw money at this hobby. It just seemed that the Belt cp is a far cheaper alternative, even over the new blade 400. But ultimately I have to base my decision on Local availibility. Id rather pick up my parts the same day then order and wait. So if the Belt cp isnt compatible with the blade 400 or Trex then I will have to consider the alternatives

No its not compatible some parts can be used or modified to fit that is all they are, but by no means alike. So I would normally tell someone screw align and the trex get a esky king or beltcp. Selfish one sided yes I am, but sounds like you already made up your mind with local availability not to mention align has been at helis a while so go down and get the dang thing and go fly. But if you come back and tell us that a trex is better than a king be ready for the terror.

What if I get both? Can we still battle

Actually, I havent totally abandoned the Idea of getting the Belt cp. As others have mentioned I could just stock up on parts. From what I have seen on video, they seem to handle pretty well and they come with a very reasonable price tag.
