Ok i think i got things setup right. anyways i was wondering, on Normal mode is it ok to have 0 pitch all the way to 12 or 13 positive pitch?

Also im not sure what to do about the gyro sensing function, i put my gyro senser to the GEAR channel and put 0:50 and 1:78%.

I'm not 100%....but 13 deg pitch may be too much on that heli....a good beginner normal pitch curve would be 40-45-50-75-100....which equals about -2 to+10.....those gyro settings should be fine as long as the"1"setting is your HH setting.......you can raise the gyro gain little by little till the tail wags then back off a little....thats the sweet spot.............if you fly in normal mode without any neg pitch....the heli is gonna balloon on you when its windy....which means you have to chop throttle a lot, really losing headspeed......if you have a little neg pitch at the bottom.....you will have the ability to bring the heli down without totally killing your head speed

Fender is correct too much pitch will bog the motor and you are going to loose headspeed, maybe even fry the motor or ESC... Keep your pitch range in normal mode from -3 to +9 or 10 Idle up pitch will be -10 -5 0 +5 +10

what is the correct way to setup pitch? do i have ot mechanically adjust the pitch rods to make it -3 at 0 throttle in NOR mode then adjust the DX7 to make sure i have +10 at full throttle?

When you do you initial setup at mid stick you should have 0* pitch then everything is done with your pitch curves in the radio and a pitch guage...

Butters:

Not sure if you are using my DX7/Belt CP program.

If you are, I put my left stick to the middle position and make sure all linkages set up properly first. That means:

  1. set the servo arms as close to 90 degrees as possible.
  2. use [SUB TRIM] to get them to 90 degrees
  3. make the linkage between the servo arm and the control horn the proper length to make sure it is parallel to the servo arm
  4. complete this step for all 3 servos
  5. now adjust the 3 linkages to the swash to ensure the swash is level
  6. next adjust the linkage to each bell-hiller arm to make it horizontal

This gives you a properly setup heli. If your pitch +/- is not the same in Stunt Mode, adjust all 3 links to the swash to raise or lower it until you have even travel in both directions.

I will post detailed pictures later tonight or tomorrow, if interested.

Happy flying!

ok i got it, but i think my feathering shaft is bent a bit, cuz the tracking is off and i see the blades arent straight, would one from a trx450 work or a honey bee king 2?

Check if your spindle is bent by following these steps...

I had to make a small improvement to the heli design to get perfect tracking. I will post setup/tracking info for the Belt CP in a new topic over the weekend.

trx450 should work. I think the HBK2 is too short.

If you are buying from you LHS, take in the old one to get the length close.

hmmmmm - I like mine.

And I don't get that response from the LHSs I go to. But, they carry Esky products on their shelves...

Unless you have really good servos like the hs65mg servos don't bother saving them if you sell the belt cp.. The heli will only fly as good as your electronics so if you use crapy stuff the heli will fly accordingly.. I tried building helis with cheap stuff and I end up replacing it all in the long run trying to improve it... I'm sure you have heard this before.... Buy the best once or keep buying parts or upgrades to fix the problems....
Good radio, servos, ESC, motor, gyro, and batteries are the heart of your heli, the rest is all mechanical adjustments

this really cracks me up when people say this, and not because of the t-rex thing.......buying a more expensive heli is not gonna change the fact that you still need to learn how to do a proper setup.....if you buy a t-rex..what is going to change that will magically make a heli fly????NOTHING.....work with what you have and learn on that and when you get your set up skills down....a better heli will be that much better.....I'm not trying to sound like a jerk, but its not the heli...lots of people have the BELT CP and it flies fine...you need to learn how to set it up.........and the LHS....its just like RR....they will bash the hell out of anything they dont have....if you cant get this one flying and you spend 800 dollars on a rex and cant set it up....then you have an 800 dollar heli that wont fly

is this the same LHS where the guy mounted the gyro upside down instead of reversing it?????I wouldn't be so fast to take any advice from them

Apparently you havent been reading posts fender you dont have to setup a TREX or charge it or even fly it for that matter and its uncrashable.

BTW you can lead a horse to water but cant make it drink. So If someone wants to do the REX thing Let em no skin off my KING.

Your right fender if you can't setup and fly the heli you have buying a different heli isn't going to fix the problem.. Can't say it enough I guess but set up is everything on a heli... The only time I have ever taken my helis to a hobby shop was to show someone that was interested in a heli or do a flying demo for them with one of mine...

with the internet and google setup is easy to learn there are videos and writeups everywhere. I been doin this for 10mo. now and I feel very confident with my setup skills. I take mine to the LHS coaxial shop and do a little flying and to get some of those Align parts to make it fly better.
