Danny from Horizon has said that the DSM12X will also come with a case.

Well I hope that is true because their website doesn't list it with the package, and shows the case as an option.

The Horizon web site is nearly worthless, FYI.

The DSM12X case info comes from here:

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7071169/tm.htm

If anyone wants mine I plan on throwing it out as soon as I receive the system.

Well, that is certainly good info to know. Not that it would keep me from buying it, but if I am buying a "Pro Class" radio, an included case is a small gesture on the manufacturers part.

any insider info on release dates?

Not really insider info but the dealer site still shows the 2.4 version ETA as 05/10/08 and the 72/2.4 version ETA as 06/10/08. It will change again.

I just noticed that Horizon is having a promotion on all DSM systems. Basically, anyone who buys a DSM12X through June 30th will get a second, free R1221 receiver if they mail in a claim form. The fine print of the offer also indicates that: "The JR 12X 2.4 is expected to ship in spring 2008". So hopefully those dates you have above, Rod, will stick.

Hopefully...

Good hunting Seattle_Helo, here is the link to the page because I had a hard time finding it

I called Horizon and they told me the rebate has been extended for the 12X due to no stock available.

What is the different between the 1200 and the 1210.
Sorry if that question was already answer. I just saw the ad from Spektrum in runryder.

Qrrambero, very basically the 1200 part number is for the DSM12X that is a dedicated 2.4Ghz system. It has no module whatsoever. The 1210 part number is the 12X with a module option- you may use it either as a 72Mhz unit or a 2.4Ghz unit. FYI, the modules for the 12X are different than any previous type of module that JR has ever had- it is a totally new design.

Thanks Nick
That is weird... Why do I want to buy the module version if I cannot use the module that I have.

I asked this question over a month ago................Has anyone unequivocally confirmed the presence or absence of a full fledged eCCPM interaction compensation menu in this radio?

Because if they choose to release 900MHz or some other thing in the future, you will be able to get a module for it as opposed to just being boned if you buy the 2.4 only setup . . . The module only has upside - no negatives that I can see . . .

The module design had to be different to provide identical performance between the two systems. The latency figures will be exactly the same between the DSM12X and the 12X.

I'm getting the DSM12X as I will never need to switch to 72Mhz. And I could not agree less that 900Mhz or 5.8Ghz is ever going to happen in the world of RC. The way that the spectrum is allocated here in the USA, going to 900 Mhz or 5.8Ghz offers absolutely no benefits yet the problems and constraints are numerous.

Ben, with the servosync feature, how would CCPM on a Spektrum system have any interaction to begin with?

The 1210 comes with a 2.4ghz and a 72mhz module. It comes with 2 modules. They are different from previous JR modules. The 1210 does not include a receiver.

Quote from Horizon site " Also, thanks to another 12X breakthrough, all 12 channels respond to commands with identical speed and perfect synchronization for unprecedented control precision. Then, to top it off, the instantaneous response of the 12X is complemented by the accuracy of JR’s refined 2048 resolution. "

Ok so maybe I missed this..... SO there is and will for 100% only be "one" model of this transmitter in regards to heli/plane correct? Does anyone know with 100% certainty if the throttle stick is "ratcheted"?

I would hate to buy this then a month later a "heli version" arises with no ratchet and more specific to helis in programming, I give a rats arse about planes, lol.

> Typically what JR will do (who knows what Horizon will bodge) is
> set it for Heli type

It is the opposite in the US. Multi-use radios are always setup for airplane use (switch position and throttle ratcheting) unless it is labelled as a heli specific version of said radio. It only makes sense as airplane users far outnumber heli users.

I'm sure the 12X will be easy to change around like the higher-end Futabas are. Mac_Man?

What Dr.Ben is asking about isn't the ServoSync type of thing. He is asking if the radio has the geometry and servo correction features of the higher-end Futabas. I would really like to know this as well!

12X x 9303???

Guys,

What is the real beneficit between these two radios, do you think it worthwhile the price, it'a almost the double the price...???
I have the 9303 2,4ghz, it's a wonderful radio, if they launch the 12X with touchscreen, then i saw a huge difference, the programming is almost the same, the stick is quadbearing that's nice, and what else...??
