Well it seems that Horizon is not including the case with their 12X kit.

Indeed. That check would cover it, but the wife already has plans for it. Oh well.

Does anybody know if 12X has a air and heli version like 9303 or will be only on version? I am asking that because I would like to about the switches... the idle will be on the left side?

I would like to know too if there the programming menu of 12X is the same as 9303 or has any difference between both of them.

Thanks

Fernando

Fernando, it depends on which 12X you want. The PCM12X for Europe and Asia is available in both heli and airplane configurations. The DSM12X that Horizon Hobbies is releasing for the Americas has only one universal configuration. Preliminary info I've heard is that all of the switches are assignable as you wish, so it would be possible to do what you ask. The programming screens appear to be very different between the 12X and 9303. The 12X also has many more programming options. However, the interface is similar to the 9303 in as much as they both use a rolling selector and several "soft" keys to input and configure settings.

Hopefully we will all know more soon if Horizon is able to stick to their stated May 2008 release date.

Thanks for your answer Nick.
I want to buy the 12X 2.4 and I have a 9303 2.4.
I am asking that because if consider that with the price of 12X that you can buy two 9303, the 12X has to be much better than 9303. It seems that the heli menu is almost the same between both of them. My doubt is if 12X is "what you pay is what you get"...

Fernando

Yes, I understand your concerns.

It will have to be seen after folks get these radios just how much more functionality the 12X has over the X9303. For a scale guy, like myself, the extra channels alone make it worth it for me. I had been hoping to attend a hobby trade show where I could pick up one of these DSM12X TX's to see what the programming is like first hand but I have not done so. And Horizon is saying that they may make changes and refinements up until the very end. So, you may need to wait a little while before you know if the DSM12X is worth it for you.

I think I'm number 18 on Horizon's backorder list, so hopefully I'll have one in hand soon after they ship. I'm going to post as much info as possible in those first weeks I play around with it.

Well I for one hope the programming in general is identical to the 9303, very simple imho.

I agree, I would like the programming in general to be like the 9303.

So what is this i hear that the 12x will not come with a case? What kind of nonsensical madness is that?
