How long of flight times do you get on it?

Really short flight times and hot battery.

Thanks for the info helicraz

Not having any motor problems yet was just wondering,,,flew two packs tonight. My close quarters flying is limited to hovering for the most part. I have managed two 360 deg. turns and about 5 to 10 other attemts that ended in aborts or minor crashes, but I have not had to replace any parts after 1.5 hours total flight time.

I stop flights after about 5 min, I like the power its got when its just been charged. Other wise if i flatten it more if i get into trouble it doesn't have enough power to pull up fast.

If anyone has tail wag replace your boom! I checked on my brand new 4#3 skeleton and even from the factory the boom is cracked, the screws are over tightened and crack the fragile boom.
I fixed mine by carefully adding super glue into the fibres then spraying with accelerator making sure the OD doesn't change.
Wag completely gone!

I accidentely crashed the 4#3 into my girlfriends head while she was sleeping!

You have to remove the motor periodically and wash it out with WD40. I normally wait until my flightimes go down to 5 mins, after a motor cleanout batteries normally do 8-10 mins of flying about.

Using a heatsink and the battery is cool at the end of the flight, no matter how hard I throw it about. I got rid of my Walkera batteries and charger and now charge 3 at a time on my cellpro using a hacked together harness..

If anyone is interested in converting to brushless. Here are the links you need to make it easy on you. You can run the original voltage and 4:1

converter
http://thesteve.ca/walkera

BL motor
http://cgi.ebay.com/LOSI-XCELORIN-1...1QQcmdZViewItem

ESC
http://cgi.ebay.com/Team-Losi-XCELO...7QQcmdZViewItem

You can use a smaller esc if you can find one. there is a couple out there. Im actualy not sure if this one can work at 3.7v so check the thread below to be sure.
Here is the crgroup thread were you can find all the info.
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...ghlight=walkera+4%233+brushless+conversions

Edit: That ESC will not run 3.7v as far as I can tell from the program instructions.

got mine last night. Really fun to fly. I need to do some more trimming work but I got into a stable hover a couple of times. Real sensitive controls however, and I wish the tx springs had a little more tension on them.

I wouldn't do this myself... unless i was able to disassemble and re-lube. I would assume WD40 evaporates under heat, and you'll be left with metal on metal.

When i first got mine, it was having bad flight times. I accidently broke the motor by losing a screw in it, and then turning it over by hand in an effort to free the screw. I replaced the motor with a new one, and now im getting 10+ mins a flight.

If you are getting bad flight times, i would check the gear mesh on the main motor, and also your paddle angles. +3 degree's makes it fly great! but also takes 2 mins from my flight time. 0 degree's and i get the full 10+ mins.

Strange right?

Just was able to fly mine for a whole battery. This is the most fun I have ever had with a helicopter. It is nice to be able to fly in my bedroom (only place I can get away from the cat). Now I can wait for the 4g3 to come out.

another mod, well sort of!

I cut about 3-4mm off the back of the main blades(straight cut) brings headspeed up and the motor seems to run cooler. Make sure to balance the blades for vibration free flying.

well since I got different answers on what hole to use on the servo arm I went ahead and just tried all 3 holes. The 1st hole was pathetic and the guy who said to use it must be a fool .the 3rd hole works the best I guess but I wish the heli would respond faster to my radio inputs. my heli is brand new but it flys like my servos are worn. anyone have this problem?

Mine came factory in the inner most hole and works very well. Very quick on the controls.

It just cleans out the carbon deposits, I think. Try it, don't try it, doesn't bother me.

Which one do are you considering the 1st hole? How about inner/middl/outer to avoid confusion?

Most beginners need to use the inner hole as its sensitive. I use the middle hole, it works well, I always use small inputs and its off like a rocket.

Interesting! are cutting off the tips, or trailing edge (back)?

The back edge that isn't straight. I did it once but it gave me the sh*ts trying to balance it.

The trailing edge of the blades.

Yes your right, its a pain to balance blades after cutting them
