We should have pics of the new Bat copter 50 by the end of today. I am just finalizing radio set up and wiring. It is still a prototype. We are finalizing the drawing for final production of frames and other parts. Just wanted people to see what the machine looks like.

Features triple bearing block supported mainshaft and triple bearing supported clutch with fuel tank located in the rear for easy visibilty. Will also be available as belt or torque tube drive in carbon or G10 frames.

You will see the pics soon enough.

The 70 will be next followed by the 90. We will also have a big block option for the 50 which will include a new motor mount, clutch hub, clutch, clutch bell, fan shrowd and support brackets and forward frames so you can put a 70 in the machine.

Please email me with any additional questions.

Thank goodness, that was one of the things i hated most about my QWW helis but not because of easy visibility. I cant wait to see some of the changes.

Now we are talking! Looks like a fun bird, now get a killer new canopy on there, Is it a triple layerd frame, or just double, hard to tell from the photos. How is pulling the motor out or doing general work in the bird? What is it weighing in at, and hows its CG? looks like a much improved CG for 3d compared to the old birds

If you remove the doubler under the engine you can drop the motor our with muffler. The frames are double stacked not triple.

Clark, it look nice!!

It looks like the CG is a lot better that the old one.

Can you place the gyro on different location if it is a little bigger? Can we use mini servos for the throutle?

Does it come with a 8mm Spindle?

Can we have some close up. To see things really in detail.

Cute, much better than the other Quick designs. I like that all the servos are on the same plane with nice direct links to the bellcranks, much like the 600N. Any idea on weight? Seems pretty tall, it'd be interesting to see it next to a well known heli for scale. The front of the frame looks very similar to the new Vibe 50.

You can put the gyro were ever you like. We tried to make a location right under the main shaft. There is plenty of room to mount the gyro on the radio tray.

Yes the head uses a 8mm feathering shaft.

We reduced the height of the machine compared to our old design. If you like lower profile gear you can purchase our carbon ones or aftermarket lower profile ones.

If you want a mini servo in the throttle we can send you some adapter plates.

Also the tail pictured is our upgraded SE belt tail gear box. It will be an upgrade option when you purchase the kit. The stock tail will include carbon or g-10 side plates with bearings. The kit will be available in Carbon also. We will have a sport and Pro version.

Had gyro issues with the machine yesterday but got her flying today. The bat copter flies. Smooth as silk. We were lucky to have weather in the 60's the last 2 days.

Barry J,

We can do a conversion kit for you, no problem. We are here for you.

Well, congrats, I guess it looks ok. Hrmm. Some hokey decisions for a 3D machine. I would have to wring it out to know for sure...

Raul is lucky..., he gets the first one

Yeah, weather was great, Joe and I got out flying also.

Cannibal.

Its a 50, which means, it looks to me like it would run any 50 fine.

Installed it looks like a OS hyper 50. I am quite sure the new YS 50 would be fine also, as the way they set the tank up, the pressure system will work fine also, lets hope.

Upon looking over the photos of the new machine, I am really disapointed. There are some areas that leave me curious. Some, "what the hell were they thinking" for a 3D machine. I mean, same old flimsy plastic fins? We dont even use Horizontals almost anymore, and if we do, very small G10 or 2mm Carbon. Seriously. Rear landing dampers??? Looks like to me someone had to do something for the screwup in dimensions at the front to rear landing mounts to fix it, so now we would need spacers. 3D, or any friggin machine worth a damn does not need these ridiculous landing dampers. Throw em away.

Do any of you look at what is out there? Or have even flown one?. Ill get the same old "Been doing this for 20 years" line. Yeah, well, that 20 years has come and gone, and maybe ya need to close up shop.

Most great helis out there, the boom mounted tail servo design is being moved out and we are putting them back up front for protection. I see the bat copter does have a well thought out tail servo rod design. Who built that deserves credit. But then, we blow the whole nice tank placement CG by sticking TWO CCPM servo in the ass end!!! Are drugs involved here? Now we have to protect TWO leads to the front and keep an eye on them. Vibes are harsher at the tail by geometry alone. Let alone oil and exhaust contamination back there (Nitric Acid its called oh engineers). With the bigger 90, jesus, I even hope we wont also need two extension leads to get to the receiver. This is a bad decision. Dumb. Period.
Answer this, looking at the pics on the site, that elevator arm is not and will not setup to 90 degrees! WTH is wrong with it? Do the pitch and ailron lever line up 90? Do you even know that 3D, or any modern flying pilot demands a symmetrical setup in this century? Why was that elevator arm engineered wrong?

Then I see the same old horrible engineering mistakes left in, that should have been wiped off planet earth, like the complete disaster tail pitch arm standoff that the pitch plate hits on the SE and STD belt tail, nice... In 3D, we use almost ALL the available travel UN-OBSTRUCTED to get proper tail authority in some maneuvers, we get this by setting our limits at the servo arm (mech gain)and gyro (elec gain) as close too 100 percent of travel we can get. Now, this is an UNSAFE design. I would not go near this. My Dominator shaft system does not have this very unsafe problem. Thats why it should be the shaft system, or at least, redesign the belt tail gearbox.
The only good unit made by QWW, the shaft system, that does not have the above problems, should have been made standard, one machine, each size. Jettison this Standard and Pro BS. They have a great new tailbox for it I saw, where the hell is it? Where did it go? Why not try 2mm single stack carbon (2 plate) frame design...dump the heavy 3mm stacked crap...ah its useless to wish. I will probably be told, like others, to start a heli shop or shutup. LOL.

There was a chance to build a really good machine here, clean slate, and this is the result? Hope the main gear at least works well in this one even. I even volunteered a nice 3D Vert fin design, as the Horizontal is useless for 3D, and the one now is okay. Dump the plastic and crud clamps too.

Ya think, last but not least, taking the time for such a new machine, designing a new purpose built, nice sleek thin profile canopy would be too much to ask. The existing are too wide and heavy.

Hell, I think my good old Dominator I have kicks this things ass, with the over 20 redesigned and fixed mods of course.

Like I said, I am sorry, but I am honest to a fault. Nothing personal, These are my thoughts on the machine shown and it being tagged "Primarily for 3D pilots". Did I miss anything.

Also, Quickworldwide, What does "when we have second article" mean? I hope that means a redesign.
