thats hard to answer but metric allen wrenches and small nutdrivers are the most common tools to fix about anything.

Some of those are tools for setup:

If you are looking for all the necessary stuff to maintain the heli.

Blade balancing is necessary but you can bolt 2 blades together and sit them on a fixed pen tip to balance them.

And I have never used ball link pliers the links are plastic and will snap on and off by hand you just have to be careful not to break them.

and gear tools are for using press on pinions I use the pinions that have an allen screw that holds them on and use some loctite sealer.

A pitch guage is an important tool to have, add it to your list.

Required Tools:
  • Phillips head screwdriver - included in the kit
PURPOSE: Most of the heli has Philips (star) head screws.

  • 2mm Allen Key
PURPOSE: For the screws keeping the blades in the blade grips and the screws for the motor mount.

  • 1.5mm Allen Key
PURPOSE: For the "Jesus Pins". The small bolts that hold the head and the main gear to the main shaft.

  • 2x 5.5mm sockets
Important: Make sure the OD is no larger than 8mm to fit inside the blade grip. I bought 2 cheap nutrunners that had a larger diameter, and turned them down with a file.
PURPOSE: To remove and replace the spindle. The manual suggests using needle-nose pliers but that would not be good on the spindle nuts.

  • Small Ball-Link Pliers
PURPOSE: remove and replace the linkages without destroying ball links. This is really important because there are several ball/links in tight places.

You will really like this model!

For setup:
  • Micro Pitch Gage
PURPOSE: Set the pitch of the main blades

  • Micro Weigh Scale with at least 0.1 gram graduation
PURPOSE: static and dynamic main rotor blade balancing per SSG Scott's direction found here Heli Balancing 2006.pdf

  • Micro Gear Puller
PURPOSE: Change pinion gear set for faster head speed - you shouldn't need this for a while.
