I'm about to enter the flybarless circle. I'm gonna use the V-bar on my 620SE, but I have some questions regarding head modification.

I installed stand off ball on the stock grip so delta offset is zero. Now, I' gonna use the washout as swash driver but, I wish to remove the collar under the head block and simply hold the washout with set screws. Will removing the collar cause a problem with headblock?

I also want to remove the pivot and bearings in the headblock.

Buy a TREX600 head block and buy the Mikado conversion kit for a TREX 600 head. It should cost you about 200 bucks which is expensive but the quality of components youll get from mikado are very good...well worth it.

This will be by far the easiest way to setup a barless head and it will be correct the first time.

Is this conversion kit for sale somewhere, special order at espritmodel maybe?

Anyway, think I'l stick with the TT head for now. Anybody know how to remove the pivot bearings from the headblock?

If you remove the phasing ring from the bottom of the head, the head will get sloppy at the bottom. Remove the pins in the phasing ring and leave it on the head as a clamp.

Don't know why you would want to remove the bearing the spindle goes through, but all you need to do to remove them is knock them out. Then you got an ugly hole.

Do like Eco8gator says and buy the Trex 600 headblock.

I pushed the bearing out, a little heat helped a lot. I want to remove as much weight as I can, so far removing the flybar mechanic, berings, pivot and phase ring, removed 142g from the heli. Keeping it that way and I should have a 620SE under 3650g (8lb) with a 12S 4000mAh pack.

If I change the head I think I'll prefer a kasama T-rex 600 head, for the same 200$ I'll have a full CNC head.

Here's what I done:
Weight 2519g without battery, 3638g with 12S 4000mAh in.

The head mod is very simple, 30mm rod screwed half way in the grip and control balls where hammered on them. Cost nothing and stiffer than I expected, this is a good start before I choose another head.

Can wait to try that new toy...

He'll have to wait...

Curious, why did you decide to remove the center bearing support?

it saves about half an ounce to get rid of the support and bearings. I would only remove the center pin if you're using infinivation dampeners. It doesn't change the way it flies at all.

That's exactly my goal, save every onces I can, some CF here and here, cutting servos wires to lengh, a Quk tail case... and I got now a pretty light 620SE. With zero delta offset the pivot is now pretty much useless IMHO, apart form softening the load on the damper. The swift have a similar thing, a ball in the middle of the spindle serve as pivot, sanding it got rid of the "swift shake" on spool up/down.

I'll try with the red damper, if they are too soft for flybarless, I'll change to the ifinathingy.

Haven't flown it yet...

I switched to a 1912-1.5Y for better efficiency, but I'm looking for tango 45-06.

After some more weight removal I'm now at 3519g (7lb 12oz) with the 12S 4000mAh pack.

I also added a pair of 620mm V-blades TST.
Now if it could warm up a bit
