I just got my Belt CP. It will be added to the fleet of two battered CP2's and an XRB.

It seems to fly well out of the box, with no adjustments.

The manual is fairly worthless. Can anyone advise me on the proper adjustments for the belt and the tail rotor.

What about the additional knobs on the transmitter?

What does the switch labled "gyro" do?

Thanx

All I cn give is just general info but here goes the belt should be somewhat loose as it is a toothed belt and not too loose it runs off track. With the gain on Im assuming the stock rate gyro at 50%, hover the heli if it drifts move the servo position on the boom towards the heli will increase pitch pushing the tail left nose right from standing behind it or clockwise towards the tail will move the tail counterclockwise. When you get the tail holding itself bump the gyro up to about 70%. other than occasional lube of tail bearings and belt thats all there is to the tail. the switch for gyro is usually to switch a HH gyro between a HH and rate mode. the nobs are to control the pitch of main blades vs throttle of the motor curve. this is for the idle-up stunt mode switch otherwise the normal mode the heli will increase pitch at a set rate with the throttle. This mode will not allow the heli to be inverted and many other stunts.

Re: Tail Belt Tension - there is a picture in your manual that shows the proper belt tension.

When you push on the belt in the access window just behind the drive gear, it should move about 1/2 way to the other side of the belt. Use a large allen key or a spare main shaft to apply medium pressure.

To adjust the belt tension, use the supplied Philips screwdriver to slightly loosen the 4 screws that hold the tail in the main-frame. Slide the tail into the frame (loosen belt tension) or out of the frame (tighten belt tension) and then tighten the 4 screws again.

The tail tube is keyed to the main-frame, so you do not have to worry about it rotating while you adjust the belt tension.

BTW, a Head Holding Gyro makes a BIG difference in the performance and fly-ability of this heli. Esky makes a fairly inexpensive HH gyro that will work well...

If you still are having problems with your tail rotor setup, I will post the linkage setup tomorrow.
