Oh ok. Then I guess I can't participate in the novice contest. I am from the 114th RC in Grapevine and started flying helis 2 weeks ago, but I can flip around and fly inverted. However, I am not good enough to participate in the non-sponsored contest.
By what you just said, I could say I am past the "noobie" phase, but still way too far from being an intermediate pilot.

Let me get this right? Did you say you started flying two weeks ago and you can flip around and fly inverted already, WOW!

Well you might not be ready for the non sponsored demo contest just yet, but if you are learning that fast you probably want have any problem flying in it next year if you are not already sponsored by a major manufacturer, otherwise you can participate in the 3D exhibition.

However, even though you might still be able to do flips the novice contest is design so that even a novice might still be able to beat someone that is advance.

I will give you more details on it later.

Yes, I could say I am a proficient plank 3D pilot. The guys from the 114th are the ones that brought me to the heli side of the hobby, and I VERY glad they did.
I've been flying on the sim for a little over a month and did the maiden on my first heli (a little Rex 450) 2 weeks ago at the fly-in in Benbrooke.
I really got bit by the bug and flying my 450 puts a BIG smile on my face every time I take it up.

I am vey excited to go to the SRC event this year.

Here's a shot a friend took this past Saturday at the 114th field. It's my first and I think it looks so nice, I feel like a kid showing it to everyone. I am in love with helis.

WOW, if that is you then the proof is in the picture. Looking forward to having you at the SRC, it is going to be so much fun!

By the way, I was at the heli blaze in ben brook were you there? Is that the event you were talking about two weeks ago.

Yes, I was at the heli blaze. It was my first heli fly-in and maiden day for me. I flew on the right corner over the grass most of the time, just in case. At the end of the day I got a couple of flights over the runway.

Heli Blaze

Malves,
Benbrook's "Thunderbirds" was two weeks ago and is called
the Heli Heat Wave.

The Heli Blaze " Golden Triangle" was in June in Grand Prairie, that was what the HD news clip was of.

Just thought I would spread my 2 cents.

I was at both the heli blaze and the heli heatwave so I am sure I saw you at one of the events if it was just for a momement.

I think you will enjoy the novice event at the SRC, it envolves a pad hope and a 30 second hover, so I could have the skill of Curtis Youngblood and you could be a total begginner and you still might win the novice event if you time it just right.

Just another month and half before the SRC and hopefully we will have nice weather without all this heat

It is a cool picture but Maybe I am wrong, but something looks fishy about it to me. Did Anthony actually get under a full size helicopter with the blades moving at the time, I doubt it.

If so he is braver then I am

What about it Ron Is this real or is this memorex?

It's still a cool picture but I also doubt he would get under a helicopter with the blades moving or at least they look like they might still be moving

Memorex

Yea man didn't you see it? It was amazing!

That photo is courtesy of Robert Ables "rables".
it was taken at the Heli Blaze in June and
Robert took it and cropped the air ambulance in
or knew someone that did it.

In any case, if any one would try it, It would be Anthony for sure
He's a blast to be around and always defying gravity.

SRC

Update....

I am back in the game. After about 40 bucks of repair parts and pieces, my Blade 400 is back up and running. I went a head and put on my nice carbon fiber blades. They make a difference when compared to those wood blades. I should not ever throw another blade again. (In theory...)

I am ready for this SRC. I can't make the Ircha event, but am excited for September. Hopefully it will be nice and cooler. These 100 degree afternoons has been tough.

That's good news, keep everything in good shape so you can have some fun flying.

I think I might go ahead an post a schedule soon of the events, perhaps before IRCHA that way people can see what we got in store for everyone.

I will go ahead and put one up hopefully this weekend. However it could change just a little because I want to talk to a few people at Ircha about the placement time of some of the seminars.

Normally I would put it up right after I got back from Ircha, but since I will be going on vacation after leaving Ircha for about another week and I am not sure how much access I will have to the Internet. I will try to put in up this weekend.
