I am starting this thread to see how many pilots want to compete with thier 500 size helicopter or do you think they are to small.

I think this helicopter size is great for the competitor.

I doubt they are to small, haven't seen one yet but the vids look awsome. The align sponsored pilots won't have a problem, but it would be nice to give the average pilot the option of using a 600 size so they don't have to get a 500. Also it remains to be seen how part support is going to be with them. I would hope by the time your competition rolls around parts would be in stock everywhere but you never know.

should not matter the size..

If you can make a small machine perform and be smooth and on rails.. than you should be allowed to use it..

I do believe unless a special class is made for them.. the big machines will rule the roost though.

I'd say its an iffy class. They are fun machines for what they are, but as competition I don't know. It certainly takes skill like the big machines, but it takes on a new level when tossing around a 90 size out there.

I'm sure Mikado will be coming out with a 400-425 mm blade size heli, as there is money to be made !

But its just presence that makes 90 size special as they have less pop than the 600 size,
they should have made the Electric Heli's more noisy for competitions

Hey, I'm with Willie...these 500 size have a lot more pop than the 90's and their overall performance is pretty stunning. In many ways more interesting than the bigger machines...smooth as silk and unbelievably quick, sure tail, etc. etc. They don't have the same presence, but they're very cool to fly and watch.

This 500 size helicopter flies great and they have a lot of power. I do not seeing them compete with a 90 size helicopter but you never know now days.
