e-E-Sky Honey Bee- Lama- Belt CP- E-Smart > new belt and purply stuff question.

Ok, had to replace the tail boom, so i thought i would go ahead and put on the purply tail box.

I got the purply tail box all together, but now it seem as though the belt is not long enough. it is a new belt also.

WHen looking at the new tail box, it looks as though it does make the belt come out further.

SOOOOOO, i am assuming that i will need to trim the tail boom. And if i do need to do that, is there a preference as to which side i take down a little bit, and for that matter if someone has done that, did you make a measurement as to how much you took off or did you guesstimate.

By the way here is a pic of my new purply stuff tail box.

And before the council has a chance to put their two cents in....

I am not upgrading the swash or anything else. Just thought that the tail would be ok, seeing as i had to replace the boom anyway.

Hello Triple B, I don't have the purply tailbox so I am not 100 % sure. It seams to me it should fit without cutting. TRY THIS, loosen the four screws on the frame that hold the boom in tight. There is a slot on the boom and it allows you to move the boom INTO the frame a little further. So loosen the screws push the boom all the way in, get your tailbox all secure and then slowly pull the boom out of your frame untill you have the right amount of tension on the belt, then tighten the four mainframe screws. (and then take the whole thing apart again after you realize the tail rotor is spinning the wrong way)

Just an update for all my loyal fans out there....

Yes DougsRC was right, while i had that little pin in there, it was not seated in the synchro front belt pulley, BECAUSE,....

anyone....anyone....

YES I had put it in upside down and there isnt a notch cut out of the bottom , ONLY the top.

Flipped that around, and SUPRISE SUPRISE SUPRISE, it all went together.

Managed to scrape togethe four servos that work, and put it all back together. Hooked up everything escept the main blades to make sure it all spins good, AND in the right direction. It was,
BBBBBUUUTTTT.....
Forgot that I didnot loctite the screws in the new purply tail box because i wanted to make sure everything was ok.

SOOOO, after about 30 seconds, and screws and pieces flying everywhere.....

Triple B is, YES, combing the countertop and floor looking for all my little purply pieces and screws!!!!!!!!
