Engine mounts are finished, so are the new clutch hubs and the engine nuts. Now we're working on the pinion gears and main gears. It won't be much longer.

Hey John, how will this work? Do we buy a stock Pantera and then a Big Block kit or will there be a Big Block Pantera kit? I'm now very happy with my Pantera 50 and looking forward to the big block version.

Pinion and main gears? Are you changing the ratio for the big bore engines? I thought the 70 size or smaller were all going to use the 8.7:1 ratio?

To complete the BBC will we need to find a longer tail boom and belt?

Why would you want a longer boom and belt? If that's what you want, go buy a real 90. The fun of a big block is having more power in the same frame.

Working, working, working. Patience please. Not much longer!

Eury's right, for 3D, there's no need for the long boom/belt. The reason to offer it in the first place is primarily for scale applications.

Looking forward to it John. This will be fun. I promised you another Pantera sale when the Big Block is released. That was originally meant as a thank you for continuing development of this heli. Now, with my existing Pantera flying so well (to suit me anyhow), I want to build the Big Block in a 2nd airframe so I don't risk the great flying qualities of the one I already have flying. How selfish of me?! haha.

My second Pantera, the one slated to be my first Big Block (OS .61) is essentially assembled and awaiting the Audacity components. I put the metal swash on both Pantera's.

Waiting patiently here too. I've got a kit and a YS .61 waiting. Haven't built it yet as I'm still trying to decide whether to just put it in the current Pantera and keep the other for parts, or fork out some more cash for some servos and add another heli to the fleet.

Any updates John?

Cheers, Shayne

Shayne,
Build it! Less power plant. That way you will be ready.
I would think that when JB has the BBC ready, so will you.
I have my Pantera II ready to fly with a 50 installed. A few trim flights and pull the motor when the toys are ready.
Chin up eh?

Just finding it hard to justify spending more money on servos and adding another heli. I'm running out of room too!

Besides, I thought this winter I would have lots of spare time to work on stuff. Been run off my feet. Three motor vehicle accidents today, a crashed heli (full scale), and a crashed heli (full scale) yesterday North of here. The guy that crashed today lived but the pilot of yesterday's died, but he probably saved the lives of his 8 passengers by going down the way he did. Heli skiing outfit. Looking forward to some sleep tonight.

I'll probably break down and buy the 9252s that I need though. Have everything else. Diana shouldn't notice the extra heli hanging.

You forgot to get a nut for the top of the clutch shaft turned down.

Make sure you use a 7/16" nut and then grind down a socket to tighten her up.
