just curious to find out if there's active military / reserve rc heli pilots...i am a former sailor / soldier, served 7+ in the navy and 8+ in the army, MOS: AD, 15B, aircraft engine mech, S-3 Vikings: TF-34'S, F-14 Tomcats: TF-30'S and F-110's depot level maintenance, and Blackhawks' T-700 series also depot level, some T-53 & 55 turbines... now i'm in the IRR...got my A&P certs 2 weeks prior to deploying, have been working in GA:, cessna, piper, cirrus, beech, lear, raytheon aircraft... sometimes i get a chance to fly a piper pa-28... when i was deployed for OIF3, all the guys had rc monster trucks, there was a large track built, had grand stands, official start line, lights for night races, etc... only a handful of heli pilots here and there...anyway, if there's any pilots in the sand box in need of parts. ect...PM me...although if you need parts like yesterday...for those of you in kuwait...look up the civilian techs from L-3 Vertex, camp arifjan, either at the airfield or the AVCRAD...they have off post privelages and would more than likely get what you need from kuwait city or near by...

my heli line- up: syma 9093, HBK2 and american rev. mantis...yes a MANTIS, check out my gallery pics>>>>sold it, but i'm building another with todays technology using original blueprints...need to update and add pics

i suck at this, but having the time of my life with it!

I served from 87 to 95 approx. AF/ANG stateside vet of first Gulf War. Got to ride in C-130, C-131, KC135, C-141. Never got to go up in the Phantom RF4-C which I worked on. Did get to go to Iceland once and see the pretty blue eyed blonde ladies there.

thrstrmech: Just curious about vibration analysis on the engines you've been around. Any of that kinda testing going on?

good mod it sucks that the king is tailheavy when everything else is so good. I removed the horizontal stab it helped a bit no downwash from main. I am hoping to someday get my 2100mah battery back that will help the balance.

I've been in the Coast Guard for over 20 years - but I don't like full scale helis. It bugs me that they have to have a fire extinguisher on standby before they start 'em up

I'll finish this assignment here in Maine then retire here with just over 22 years total. Recently Built a CNC machine and hope to supplement my retirement income doing fancy carvings for rich folk's houses and sailboats.

they need a fire extiguisher because of starting jet propulsion. ever eat hot peppers and get air in your stomach you gotta make sure the fire comes out the tail or you'll have a fire in your cockpit.

hi jerry from maine...wish you the best when you retire, i had enough of the BS from the upper brass and their pawns games of who's got more authority and making the rest of us suffer for their short comings...but i'm not complainning...anyway ...seems to be only in the military that fire bottles are kept close by...remember most of those pilots are college kids trying to grow fast, as well as the egos and for those like me, high school grad with some college, associates degrees...how does that saying go...takes a college education to break'em, a high school education to fix 'em, or something to that affect...

i suck at this, but having the time of my life with it!

I know from Navy days when the ship goes down you throw off all the extra weight. That means officers.
funny part is they knew it too.
