e-E-Sky Honey Bee- Lama- Belt CP- E-Smart > Air Hog to HBK2 in a week?

You gotta like my spirit. I have a little boy just turned 4 and and he can fly the little Air Hog heli all over the place! That kinda gave me the heli fever (Esky has got to love those little $20 things!) Anyway, now we have a HBK2 RTF + brushless 3800kv/ecm on the way. I mean, don't we both need a heli?

Lots of great info here and folks seem real nice. I've read about all the posts about the Esky helis here and soaked up a bunch I think.

Quick intro: We enjoy working/tinkering on all kinds of stuff. Have a little basement machine shop. I was in the Air Force as an avionic sensor systems (IR and camera) specialist on the now outdated Phanton F-4. In tech school we had a solid week of just soldering for goodness sakes! Still do service work in the infrared field as predictive maintenance along with vibration condition monitoring.

Hope to eventually contribute something, but for now just a newbee trying to learn. Thank you for all those previous posts!

DougsRC: Enjoyed watching your inverted crash, by the way.

Hello Sgt. Heli. I am actually saluting you but you can't see it, but I am really. It really is a fun hobby for a father and son or a father and daughter athough frustrating at times, still worth it. I'm glad you enjoyed my crash, it didn't cost you dime Sarge. Welcome

Wow Tryan. Thats a real heli.

Yeah I was a Ssgt in the A.F./ANG before my departure. I'm a stateside veteran of the first Persian Gulf War and would you believe my name is Sargent too, LOL. I was a Sgt squared as one cohort put it. So I figured why not Sgt Heli for a screen name. Kinda suits me I think.

Great weather here today for flying with temps in the low 60s and bluebird clear skies. My son has been out back giving the little Hog a workout. I've noticed that after 5 hard days the rudder is permanently drifting. Little motor just not as strong as it once was. Heck, my son doesn't even care.

One thing I've learned is I may need some of those Deans connectors since that apparently isn't a gimmie. Might as well get an order together for spares seeing how much crap you all have used up.

once the boy gets a little older look into the lamaV4 even for yourself $88 xheli.com $100 with shipping All in one package can fly indoors and will teach you alot as far as orientation. Its a little fragile but parts are available online to rebuild dont have to throw it away like the airhogs stuff. I always have to finish off the battery when my 11 year old daughter gets tired of it. I can nosein like a champ now. But with a coaxial it doesnt really count.
