hey guys, while trying to get the king 2 into a hover, the heli is spinning like a top...swash is straight and true in both directions, servos set up like the chinglish manual states...still nada...upgrades have been made as such: outrunner motor, 25a speed control and mega power 1350 li-po, made an extenion battery tray to get CG right... have notice though that the tail servo arm not moving fwd as much as aft, less blade pitch, anyway also the manual does not help at all with the tx set up, have left toggle switch aft, knob set at 1 o'clock and gryo switch fwd...any one have a clue to what's going on, thanks

You might want to reverse the channel 4 switch.

Has it alwasy been like this.?

The TX instructions do leave room for improvement for sure. The gyro switch on the TX does nothing if you are using the stock rate gyro. The switch is effective on when you use a HH gyro and have the signal plug from the gyro plugged into channel 5. The two knobs on the top of the transmitter(hov.pit+pit.trim) I usually leave both at 12 o'clock but both can be fine tuned to your likeing. It does sound like a gyro reverse switch or rudder channel reverse problem. Like Rick said -- Has it always been this way ?? or just a recent developement ??? We need a little more info.

no, this is a recent problem, flew it prior to mods with little to no problems

Well, To me it would seem like possibly a gyro malfunction or servo failure. It could even be binding in the servo rod. Disconnect the carbon rod attached to the tail servo, move the rod, check for binding. Then with the rod detached see if you get full travel with the servo arm. It sounds to me like a new gyro and or tail servo is in order, monies well spent.

That is a problem maybe you broke that servo and it skipped a few teeth and is not running the same course as it used to. Unplug gyro and plug servo into receiver anywhere just to center it and check its travel. And let us know so we can go from there.

but also your headspeed with brushless is probably higher so the tail servo will need to be moved I am running hdx300 10t pinion I have 3/8" from the back of the heli to the servo mount. giving a preset of about 15 degrees pitch at center to hold tail.

thanks for info guys, servo working properly, i had to adjust servo moving it aft on the boom to get zero pitch of tail blades, CG checked again, switching channel 4, etc....... gyro initialized like normal, took it to local hobby shop, crappy gyro, got the the bad unit off the assembly line...ok will replace gyro with HH and tail servo, give it a go and get back to you guys with updates and pics...need to load my current pics of it in my gallery...so much to do, such little time

NOOOOOOO this is wrong I made that mistake once you need aprx 15 degrees to hold the tail at zero stick to compensate rotor torque.

...i'm here, had to run after the kids, get them out of trouble...looking at your tail servo setup, i have set mine the same, i like that the rod no longer rubs anything and it's straight, had a bow when it was in the clips...anyway, tied to hover, got it airborne, but it still spinning around, slows down a bit with right input of the stick, no problem geting off the ground, just holding in steady direction...have adjusted gyro input in small increments from negative to positive, still no change...

if your still using right input your not getting enough air pushing need more pitch. Is it spinning full fast circles or just drifting a bit?

more pitch needed slide servo towards heli body away from tail then center the servo and adjust horn at a 90 degree angle.

full fast circles, was looking over the entire heli and found one of the main blades was drooping lower than the other, removed blades and found that the main blade fixed shaft is bent slightly...haven't seen this replacement part on any site...thinks me screwed now

i suck at this, but having the time of my life with it!

Then you definitely don't have the pitch right. You will have twice the pitch one way as the other. People flew without gyros for quite a while the thing the gyro does for you most is hold the tail straight with hard throttle increases witch can even be done mechanically. If everything on the tail is working moving freely and belt not slipping or too tight. Keep moving the servo towards the heli body until it stops spinning. And at about 1/2 throttle maybe more you can control the tail left and right.

do you mean part 025?
the stock spindle is available at jaghobbies or I believe I have a used and maybe a new one you can have as I have a CNC head that uses a different spindle.
