OK, will check the one way. Not tonight, but tomorrow, appreciate the help.

Just about ready for an upgrade. TREX or one of the new 500 models. Something that works!!!!!!!!

Wimbo, Your last statement could be interpreted different ways. #1 If you are saying that out of frustration, thats one thing, but a bigger more complex machine is not going to solve a set-up issue it will only make it worse. #2 Saying that you are going to UPGRADE to a TREX or something that REALLY works, let me say the KING works fine for us and many others.#3 If you really are a seasoned TREX guy and came other to bust our balls, funny, I can barely stop laughing(sarcasm) No matter what the REAL truth is, we did try to help you with our combined experience and will continue to do so with people who REALLY need help.

Tryan yes it does make the trex guys look bad, I'm starting to see your point..... I believe if you can't setup what you have then chances are you can't setup the best money can buy so you will still have a crappy flying heli with more money invested...
I didn't have a problem setting up the blade cp but again I do it all mechanically first, then fine tune with the radio if needed... That is the way I learned to do it as we didn't have radios to adjust everything with back then. Even servo reversing was not invented yet......

I would definately suggest getting the t-rex....getting a more expensive complicated machine will DEFINATELY make up for any lack of set up/problem shooting skills....when in doubt always go for the more expensive machine....then you never have to worry about set up...or problems....its the way to go....t-rex rules

DougRC, not trashing the KB, but I have had quite an experience with it. Almost giving up along the way, but decided that it wasn't going to get the best of me. First the spinning to the left, finally got to the bottom of that with the help of a SMRCHA member (Southern Maine RC Helo) and upgraded the gyro and tail servo (GY 401 and Fut s3154) tail now rock solid. Put a lot of new parts in and no lift off!!! The beauty of it is that I have learned how to take apart and rebuild the helo! Plus now have the tools needed!

The comment about the TREX was just for a possible upgrade to the next level. I, absolutely, do appreciate all the help on this forum, wouldn't have posted if I didn't respect the opinions of those that have been there done that with RC Helos. Will know more tomorrow when I give it a try.

LIFTOFF!!!!!!

OK guys, flew the KB2 this morning for a test hop in the garage! Flew great! New main gear and pinion smooth as silk, tail holds tight, and I believe replacing the main gear with one way bearing did the trick for no liftoff. Thanks to Blusaber for that tip!!!

I measured the pitch of the blades prior to flight and in Idle Up got +10 to -10 degrees, full pitch authority.

Again thanks to RunRyder and all that provided "tips", actually probably a combination of all the tips combined to solve the problem. I'm still in the hovering and move about mostly "tail in" at this stage, but now can continue to fly. Also using the sim to practice. I watch the 3-D videos and can't for the life of me figure out how they do it!!!!!

Good to hear Wimbo

Nothing more satisfying than seeing your Heli perform well after misbehaving. With regards to 3-D not only do I not see how they do it but what exactly are they doing. Goes way to fast for me. Flips, rolls, tic tocs ya but reverse washing machine death spirals nope not me . Take care and have fun.

Also Gary, I agree with you about the 3D flying, it has really gotton too MANIC, impressive but not enjoyable to watch. My favorite pilot is Martin DUZI, if you ever get a chance to see some of his older VIDS like the hornet2 from 2004, its almost like ballet in the air without being so manic and extreme.
