| I'm glad somebody has a 400 that flies good. The one I have is a long way from flying like anything that flies good. It does fly better since I took the plastic head off, which by the way, I don't think it is possible to get the blades to track with that plastic head, and put the metal head off my MX450 on it.
As for the tail wag. The control rod must be silky smooth. When I had the red aluminum tail on mine the slider for the pitch control didn't slide smooth, I had to 400 grit sand paper around the round part of the shaft of my small hex drivers and smooth it out and polished the shaft some. The ball ends fit tight also and had to make them fit a looser. I also did away with the frame mounted servo and boom mounted one. Finding a good, fast 9g servo that will fit in that hole was something I couldn't do. Also the 9g servo's don't have the power to overcome anything that's creating a drag in the tail control system. I'm running a 401 gyro and until a couple of hours ago was running the S9257 servo. Just for the hell of it, I installed a GWS Park HPXF. This is a very cheap, very fast servo and I just wanted to see how it works. The dam thing actually worked very good for the 20 minutes I flew it. I also run the longest arm I can get to clear. Longer arms take a good servo but hold much better because the servo doesn't have to make as much correction movement, therefore can correct quicker. I'm going to put the GWS servo on the 400 when I do the ccpm conversion on it now that I see it actually works much better than I figured it would for the price.
I see you have a lot of the frozen, white rain on the ground. I've read many of the gyro's are very temp sensitive, let it sit out for a little while to acclimate and see how it does. |
