| Just curious because I bent another spindle in flight yesterday. The Hurrican has been doing fine with the Radix blades (bent a spindle earlier with some TT blades), but we replaced them with the new G5 blades, and suddenly I have another bent spindle on my hands.
I replaced the spindle. I also noticed that when the head was built up with the new harder dampeners it was hard to turn with a hex wrench (I tried to check for a bent spindle with the "snake test" ). Yes it was greased.
So I drilled out the dampeners so that they slipped on the spindle much easier. When I built it up, the spindle turned much easier.
I went back to Radix blades, and took her out for a flight today.
She flew beautifully!!! I set her up with 12 degrees of collective, and 8 degrees of cyclic, and fine tuned the blades at zero stick. Today she came up into a hover and the tracking was perfect! She was flying really sweet, and someone even noted how fast she was doing rolls. I put her into a beautiful inverted hover right on the deck.
Sweeeeeet!!!
I got a helicopter for my girlfriend, It was a good trade! |
