Ady, Yeah I guess you are right... the thing flies like a bat out of hell but as the engine loosens up then I figure that wag will go away.

I am loving mine too but I have to keep an eye on my belt.

rex 600 Sports

Well I'm new to run ryder but flown for last 2 years ( sceadu 50 ) anyway My buddy Ady here is my flying coach and what he dont know aint worth knowing. Ive seen said T-Rex 600n Sports do its thing and what a machine - but like Ady says keep an eye on your belt drives as i saw Ady's go. Check for missing teeth or loads of slack even after 1 flight using a new belt. But I shall stick to my little Sceadu EVO 50 with its ikle 50 Hyper I shall have my fun watching an expert fly his instead. Good luck to all.

Wow. What a day. What a heli.... Started the day with a broken starter shaft. That really pi$$ed me off. Got it all put back together, and fired it up. Still running too rich, but I figured I'd give it another tank. Noticed the tail started slipping, so brought her down and checked it out. Tail gear stripped That might have been from a "Less than perfect auto" before the .91

So, new tail drive gear, tight belt, and I'm back in the air. Tail is holding good, time to lean it a couple clicks. Back up and I'm lovin the performance. A couple of tic tocs (or flip flops.... ) and I like it.... Time to bump the pitch up to +/-14 and give it a go.... Acouple of full power climb-outs and ......... The tail lets go again

I'm thinking that +/-12 or less is the way to go... Even at 12, the performance is amazing. I think I'll keep the belt for a little while before I decide on the TT setup. I'll give it another gallon or 2 and see what else happens...

have fitted some metal blade grips to see how she feels , the new 6v setup looks loads quicker than the previous 5.3v , altho the swash is starting to feel a bit sloppy now ,these rex`s seem to wear quick

yo dudes , ran =/-15 today to see wot would happen on a 2200 headspeed , AWESOME AWESOME , except the tail so went back to 12degrees and had a lovely time , will now work on a torque tube setup on the tail , standard at first , then longer boom n blades on the tail , if i can get the tail to hold all the time at high pitch levels i`ll be a happy bunny

What do you suppose the reason for your tail not holding is?
Is the engine now bogging with +-15 collective pitch?
Do you have your tail blade deflection (travel limit) maxed out so the servo can give max deflection when needed? Just curious.

no bogging at all which was nice , sure do have full deflection , i`m gonna change to titque tube then go from there , different blades and all that

This could be due to the amount of force that the head is distributing to the blades. With the engine shoving that much force to blades at hight pitch, it wants to spin the whole heli. Three things are the only option to correct this.
1. extend the boom out longer to compensate for the torque of the engine to the blades
2. Put longer tail blades to increase the tail thrust
3. Reduce the pitch on main blades to avoid the over thrust of mains.

I noticed the same deal and I had to reduce the pitch down and it went away.

I just modified the fan hub and crank on my YS61 for the conversion, pretty simple. I haven't started the build on the 600 yet, but with that part already done, it should be a straight forward build with only the bottom plate to modify.

i agree jay but its gotta be tried , 12 degrees each way is nice an i`m lookin forward to tryin the tube setup , have a longer boom sorted to try 620 blades n bigger tail blades , will also turn the head down to 2150 again
, plus it was cold today and i don`t thing the belt liked it to much

Ady you mean my text to you the other evening regards a bigger tail boom was a GOOD IDEA I feel so happy now Mind you I don't own a t-rex600 n sport, but from reports they dont wear too well do they for modding ?? Do the metal pro versions stand up better or does the metal bend using the YS91 engine, has anyone done this Modding on the Pro version yet ? ( not that im gona try just curious now as this all sounds far out stuff to me )

Man, if we're increasing the size of the main blades, boom, and tail blades, we're effectively making this a .90 size heli.

standard frames (1.6mm ) are holding up well , cos i`m now using the metal head and them PTFE dampers the head is mega mega stiff , only flex is in the frames but not much to worry about , yes tulip , your idea will be tried
