I used the stock motor mount, milled the sides down by 1.5mm on each mount to keep frame sides from spreading, my buddy tached it at 2260 with the 600V blades, I have 610's on the way to try this weekend.

I'm looking for a machine shop to mill down my motor mount. I don't have that type of equipment at hand. I need about 1.5-2mm shaved off of my mount as well.

I'm still loving mines. I've put about 5 gallons thru her, 3 crashes and shes still flying strong. I've been thru a few clutch bearings, and dampeners go fast, but other than that it runs great. I'm gonna retro fit the .50 when I get my 700 for christmas.

What's the lightest setup so far with metal grips? How much flight time you guys getting?

ady 600N Sport plastic grips = 3750grams

George (Not sure what kind of heli but metal grips.)
3717g. (8.194 lb.) with no fuel, and the blade holder in place.
4100g. (9.038 lb.) with a full tank, and the blade holder in place

Also I skimmed through this thread mostly where am I going to get a correct gear to get 2100 head speed and keep the motor in it's power band?

Mines running great. My first concern was whether autohub/clutch/tail
would take the power of the ys91sr.But after 50 flights and alot of spirited flying this heli is awesome.I enjoy the autos too as they hang forever

They have different gearing/pinion for the engine but unfortunately the mounts that they have only work for their frame kit not in the standard trex frames.

People say that the shorter stroke ST will run happier at higher rpms than the SR which you will need if you stay with the std 8.5 gear ratio. 2000 rpm on the head would put you right at 17000 rpm on the engine.

I have a ys 60 laying around. Is it worth it to use this in the 600 or is it just as powerful as the os50? The ys91 sounds great but the 60 is what I have with low time.

Using a 60 isn't worth it. The minimal gain that the .60 gives in power, is canceled by the added weight.

Personally, I wouldn't do the conversion with anything less than a 70.

You think your kids are expensive now?

Just wait until they move out!!

And if there's anyone considering doing the mod that needs an engine.... Let me know.

I still have a YS91ST that already has the mods done.
