Well after only having this bird in my hand for 48 hours this is what my HBK looks like.

I'm sure I'll get a lot of these but here is a list of what's done so far.
Trex 450XL canopy, landing skids, horiz. stab., and main rotorhead.
I'm putting on the rex tail assembly next week(waiting on parts) It has a Esky 3800 outrunner/25amp ESC, G90 Gyro, Futaba S3154 on the tail, S75's on the cyclic,3amp BEC, and purple swash. Before anyone asks why the answer is: I just wanted to see if it could be done. It hovers very stable and will be doing outdoor test flights hopefully tomorrow.

Thanks Yeah I'm sure the Council will have a field day with this one. The die hard Trex guys will not like this much either. My bird has no category to call home.

How about "Modular Micro"? Like HDX300, AXE CP, King, maybe more that I don't know of.

Regarding all the Trex parts, could this be considered a "Mothed Trex"? An "Allosaurus", perhaps? "T-King"?

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're NOT out to get you...

That aint much TREX He did use the only good part from one though. The Canopy.

Take that slider.

OMG I just realized thats a plastic rex head? Plastic for plastic? Now that I have experienced the CNC Grape ape I may never use a plastic heli head again.

Yeah it's a plastic head. I didn't have a metal head on hand. I will probably get a metal one down the road. By the way tryan, how is that cnc head working out for you?

sssssmmmmmoooootttttthhhhh!

I'll never go back to plastic. head is .2oz heavier well worth the tradeoff thats probably what brought out the snide comment about plastic to plastic.

I bet those tracking problems are not there anymore either. That's not much of a weight difference. Next year I'll get a metal head for my new baby. One nice thing from doing this mod is I can now go to the LHS (5 minutes away) and get main blades instead of ordering them.

Not necessarily innovation is part of being council. Just don't try to tell everyone you had to turn it into a trex to make it fly worth a d***. One reason I'm sticking with E_sky is to show that they Know how to make a heli. I don't know about Align plastic vs E-sky which are both better than the bladecp but metal is smooth. A little lube on metal to metal will last forever.

Jwitacre, There is one thing about these guys here is they will accept you into the flock as long as you have one esky part on your heli... I have a honeybee that I don't fly anymore and they allow me to hang out... Wait until I get my 600...
I have to give you the award for creativity, for thinking outside the box to get a better main rotor system...

The esmart is only a shipping ride away... I'm trying to get info on which one to buy, Plastic or all metal.... for scale flying.. and what upgrades I need to get and we'll see it this week I hope...
How did the Marx bros put it... "I don't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member"....
Or something like that..

It's on a scale heli with low headspeed and I will want to paint it to match the heli. I hate to waste a good metal head and painting it.. I can't bring myself to pain the crappy blue bling on my SE's even though I really should ....

Don't worry Tryan I would never make that claim. I'm very impressed with the HBK overall. You can't beat it in the 300 size class for the price. What started the modding was 4 things: I don't like plastic ball links, I didn't like how close everything was up top around the flybar assembly(looked like a lot of potential rubbing points), the potential tracking problems at higher headspeeds, and I wanted to get the wife to stop complaining about the xtra heli frame sitting around collecting dust.
